K-O Adjustment to the IRC, 6 Deck

New to the board, just finished reading the K-O method.

In a 6 deck situation, are these the correct values if I moved the IRC to 0:

Key Count = +16
Pivot = +24
Insurance = +23

Also, the pivot is not talked about in the "rookie" section. Is the pivot strictly for making decisions on betting, or does it serve another purpose?

Your numbers are correct and no it is not only used for betting decisions. I would continue reading the whole book to get the detailed answers to your questions. You will be glad you read the other parts, even if you don't plan to use the techniques.
