KO Card Values

#1
Hey everyone, I'm new to counting as I just returned from my first casino trip and thought I would give learning how to count a shot. Like recommended here on the forums, I went out and bought Knock-Out BJ. The card value chart in the book gives a 7 a +1 value. I have heard friends in the past discuss counting, and they have always given 7 a neutral value. Is +1 the generally accepted value for a 7 or this is just specific for KO?

Some systems value 7s some do not. The KO values the 7 in order to "unbalance" the count. The HiLo for example counts 2-6 v. 10-A and it is a "balanced" count.

KO is unique because its unbalanced - its based on a slightly different principal that balanced counts like HiLo - AND AS A RESULT, KO IS SIMPLER TO EMPLOY without any real loss of power - KO's unbalanced approach eliminates the single most difficult step for many aspiring counters - NO TRUE-COUNT CONVERSION ARITHMATIC IS REQUIRED.

Never mind what that 'true-count' conversion is, just start learning KO, starting with the total mastery of BASIC STRATEGY. zg
