Match the Dealer??

After playing double deck for a while last night, I was on the way to the cage cashier to cash out my winnings. On my way I noticed a new table, 6 deck blackjack with the "match the dealer" side bet. After searching the forums I found the analysis of the side bet here: http://wizardofodds.com/blackjack/appendix8.html#MatchDealer

The EV is -.04. My question is this, with counting cards can you get an edge over the house with a high positive count (I use Hi-Opt 1)? My logic is as follows, if the count is high both you and the deal have a greater chance of having matching 10 value cards (understandably, a Q and a K are both 10 value cards but wouldn't pay).

Does anyone have any numbers on this? I would love to see an analysis like the lucky ladies analysis Panama Rick did here: http://web.archive.org/web/20030407221336/cardcounter.com/Lucky_Ladies.htm

If all else fails I could try to write the code myself but first I'd see if anyone has done this or if it's worth the time.

I haven't seen any formal analysis of this side bet but I would guess that it would take a pretty good imbalance of cards to beat a 4.1% house edge. This probably suffers from the same weaknesses as the Royal Match bet.

It looks to me as if you have to match the suit also. In order to bet only when you have the advantage you would have to add a system that counted suits also. Is that worth the effort? Remember you also have to apply your regular counting sytem so another system would be adding onto your workload. Could you apply both systems effeciently?

Probably not worth the tremendous effort.
