I am making my first vegas trip in august (120 degrees...cant wait) I recently purchased the american casino guide with had had about a dozen matchplay coupons for downtown and strip casinos. (i wont have a car so the boulder and north vegas coupons are of no use to me) I also as thinking of purchasing subscription to las vegas advisor which comes with "pocket book of values" with some matchplay coupons. Any tips on how to accumulate more of these? greatly appreciated

There is a limit of two LVA memberships per household.and they do try to enforce it. But you can buy an unlimited # of ACGs. I usually buy 5 per year.
Once on the LVA forums, you can trade coupons from the ACG to others as it suits you.Sometimes you can get a downtown matchplay in trade for a BOGO buffet in Missouri,or some such.
An on-line LVA membership is $37 and you'll get way more back your first visit.

I remember more of the good LVA coupons being off strip than on, but it should still pay for itself.
