More 8D at the Borg

A reliable source tells me that the Borg is converting more games to 8D. The HL room and NMS pit will remain 6D.

Wonderful to see AC is taking strides to remain competitive as more east coast blackjack is on the verge of appearing.

On the other hand can you really blame them? They'd have to deal 100% out of a 6D shoe to get the same hands per hour as 75% of an 8D shoe. And to your typical patron is there really much of a difference between 6 and 8 decks? Not so much.

I'm really hoping that all these table games opening up on the east coast will force AC to start offering some competitive BJ games.

Other members have reported, and I agree, that they constantly only play with tables at full capacity.

I really hope this isn't the case. It was bad enough when they converted all of the tables by the poker room into 8 decks.

Terrible news. I don't know how this place will become after MGM's half is sold.

Actually its not really bad news. The Borgs pen on their 6 deckers was lousy anyway. They have better pen for the most part with their 8 deckers.

8 deck pen

I don't know System.. I've been there quite a few times when they had 80+% pen on the 6 deck games. They seem to change it often.

It seems a done deal. Only high limit and the pit outside of HL (NMSE) are 6d. The rest are all 8D as of 4/30. Is there any eye witness to confirm that? I have booked a trip next week. Not sure if I want to play those 8D after just played exclusively juicy 2D in Vegas.

Just got home from there, was playing in the pits by the Bbar(15$table) and they were still all 6D.

UPDATE: This is now true, was there last night and all pits are 8D with the exception of pit 4(NMSE) and HL room. The change was made mid week

Wonderful. Are there any MSE 6 deck S17 casinos left in AC that actually have more than two tables??

Uhm...No

I would have to say no to that question. I believe Borg was the only place to have MSE with 6 decks in AC. It saddens me about Borg doing such a thing. Their 6 deck pen varies greatly, from horrible to not so bad really. Most recreational gamblers won't know the difference and will play the 8 deckers and the only way they'd change it is if their overall business dropped off along with getting enough direct complaints about 8 decks instead of 6.

It does indeed suck to hear this. Borgata isn't the best game in town anyway. (i am not referring to that two deck crap on the boardwalk...lol) What makes it special is having so many tables and being able to move around so much, without creating a lot of down time.

True, but it is kinda funny when the critters start following you around to see where you're going next. I've had this happen at the Trop, too. It was even funnier, one time, when I was talking to my EMFH partner on the cellphone while being followed, and you could see the lightbulb on top of the PCs head when he put 2 and 2 together and realized we were working as a team.

That's a new one on me. I never heard of them following a player. lol You must have made quite an impression on them to merit such a distinction.

Which is pit 4--the one just outside the HL pit as you come in? I was there a month or so ago and there were a few 8D games, but mostly still 6D. Also, there was better pen in some locations, even at the same price, as a matter of house policy. Don't ask me why, but a dealer told my partner.

Didn't Taj have some 6D in the $25 and up tables? I haven't been there in a while.

Apologies for the noob question but I'm just trying to understand... The increase from 6 to 8 decks will increase the variance right? Any difference other than that? Thanks in advance.

8 decks has a higher house edge than a 6d.

Or do you believe that the casino made the change to give the player a better chance at winning?

But I know some people can talk themselves into anything.
