Dealing Blackjack From The Hand
Dealing Blackjack From The Hand

The amendment clearly states the rules will be S17 and D9,10,11 only. I did not see mention of the blackjack payout. The constant referencing of 6-5 blackjack was in comparing the new rules to the rules already in place for the hand held 6-5 game, not stating that this new game would be 6-5. I suppose the lack of mention of the blackjack payout does indeed mean that it will be the house's choice.bjcount said:Looks like the rules will be open to the house, but may be.
6:5, H17, D9,10,11 only, nDoS, option to deal only 1 round in SD, and min 35% cut off
Have to run some sims on this mess...

I bet Trump Plaza. What about you?nottooshabby said:Any bets on who will be the first to offer this?![]()
You would think these casinos would start doing something to bring in people! Of course, we have been saying this for a couple years now. I've never paid for a room, so I don't worry about these things, but I see Bally's AC is offering rooms for $29 now! And I know these places like Trump Taj that have recently built new towers are sitting at very low occupancy at least during the weekdays when I'm there. Hell, they only have 1 or 2 people working the check-in counter, when it used to be a dozen. And still there is no line!bluewhaIe said:I bet Trump Plaza. What about you?

This top boss of Trump Plaza said these comments during an interview: "...We are doing our best to attract patrons to the hotel... that could net out at least $1 of profit.... We’re prepared now to forgo margin to get people here..."
Yes, he can. Trump Plaza's bj games will be improved. When he was the Vice President of Table Gaming, he brought all 6-deck-games to Borgata prior 2006, and now that he's the top boss in Trump Plaza, he surely can bring at least some 2-deck-games to Trump Plaza.
I don't expect to be in AC anytime soon, so I only read the summary, but I did see this: "The temporary amendment to N.J.A.C. 19:46-1.10 requires the blackjack layout to include an inscription indicating that the dealer must draw to 16 and soft 17 if the casino licensee implements this optional drawing rule."kewljason said:The amendment clearly states the rules will be S17 and D9,10,11 only.
Oh my, You are correct. I read it incorrectly. My apologies to BJcount, who was correct initially.Nynefingers said:I don't expect to be in AC anytime soon, so I only read the summary, but I did see this: "The temporary amendment to N.J.A.C. 19:46-1.10 requires the blackjack layout to include an inscription indicating that the dealer must draw to 16 and soft 17 if the casino licensee implements this optional drawing rule."
I assume that the "optional drawing rule" refers to dealing a handheld game, so that means it's H17, not S17. Or am I misinterpreting something?
The rules allow 6:5 SD to be dealt with out a hole card but don't require it.Automatic Monkey said:Not so fast.
"The temporary amendment to N.J.A.C. 19:46-1.19 provides that blackjack using one or two decks of cards may be dealt from the dealer’s hand in accordance with the same procedures currently used in dealing the 6 to 5 blackjack variation."
6:5 SD in AC doesn't take a hole card.
That was my thought too, this rule doesn't mean that the casinos are going to offer pitch games, they're just getting everything in order to make them available depending on competition.kewljason said:The amendment clearly states the rules will be S17 and D9,10,11 only. If these are indeed 6-5 games, I don't see the point as the similar 6-5 already exists. If this is a 3-2 game, which my skeptical side finds hard to believe, could it be the result of increased competition coming next year from neighboring states Delaware, and PA? (although Pa still has yet to offically sign a law allowing tables games)
It figures that just as I begin to make my move west the games in the east will improve.

The only place doing any kind of business in AC is in the marina district.

Although experience has shown them the 6:5 SD experiment has failed in AC. Those tables are rarely full and carry only small action. It did not spread like it did in Las Vegas.Tarzan said:Do you think for one minute that if AC casinos started to offer a double deck game that it would be any better than the single deck 6:5 garbage they have? H17, 6:5, no DAS, etc. and you have a game no better than the single deck 6:5. Garbage x2 is all--- They will jack the rules around that it is unbeatable and ridiculous and then cry in their beers over how bringing the game in didn't do them any favors after the novelty of it wears off and they fleece enough people for all it's worth to scare them out of wanting to play it.
They will not make a game that is fair or that anyone at all has a chance at. They are doomed and destined to make stupid moves and chase more people than they bring in because of the stupid asswipe x10 factor.
