Online Blackjack / Probablities Generator

I'm a tech guy just like the person in the other thread. I'm new to BJ so I have a few questions about online casinos...

Do they allow you to just play the dealer?

What's this business about "Bonus" issues? I don't care about them, and would just start an account with my own $100 and use $1 bets. If I can't make it to $150 before dropping to $0, then I'll cancel the experiment.

Can someone explain how the dealer/casino always has the edge in BJ if they are FORCED to hit on 16 or less and do not have the ability to DD and Split?

I'm writing a completely "Out of the box thinking" computer program for generating probabilities, but I need to know a few things first. More too depending on the answers above.

:laugh: A lot of programmers and players have come to this site with ideas that almost always turns out to be bad, but heres the information you want:

Do they allow you to just play the dealer?
It will be the case at most online casinos. Most of the time, as a matter of fact, you wont be able to play with others even if you wanted to. There are some casinos where you play live vs a dealer with other players via webcam, but they are uncommon.

What's this business about "Bonus" issues?
It is a proven way to make money off of online casinos. They usually are matched or a % of your deposits, where if you deposit $100 (for example), they will add another $100 to your account to play with. You have to play a certain amount, but if the house edge * play requirement does not overcome their bonus, its +EV.

Technically, they don't ALWAYS have the edge; games do exist where players have an "off the top" advantage. However, casinos generally have the edge in BJ because they go last and if you bust, the dealer wins, even if the dealer busts as well.

I'm aware of the other attempts by people in the past. And I know that the chances are it won't work. But I'm doing something that most others haven't tried. I'll be using 4 processor cores for 3 months to generate the probabilities chart using a completely different "Out of the box thinking" approach.

So next question, which is probably yes...

Do online BJ sites reshuffle every hand? I can't imagine they wouldn't... otherwise people could just CC.

My only other issue is in the other thread I started. I need to know what online site I'll be using. I need to know the 17, DD, Surr, split, etc., etc. rules before I start the 3 months of processing the probabilities generator.

Most online casinos shuffle every hand. Check out live blackjack that some places offer. There is a video feed of a live dealer dealing out of a shoe. There seem to be opportunites.

Now I just need a rec for a USA-friendly online BJ. Is it illegal to post that info here? Strangely silent on this topic at this site.

Nice thinking, but search for composition-dependent strategy chart. It has already been done - and you won't need quadcore CPUs for that.

I merely wondering about your "out of the box thinking". It is consensus that the best decisions are those from your limited playing options accounting for all relevant information you have, which result in highest expectation value of return. All of those best decisions will then form a strategy, which is usually known as "basic strategy" if you only take the information of your hand and dealers card (and rules).
Unfortunately, online games are shuffled after every hand, and thus those cards are the only information you have - hence following basic (composition-dependent) strategy is the best way to play (but the dealer still has the advantage).

For any given set of rules and available options, such a basic strategy can be computed (along with exact probabilities) on any netbook within minues - you won't need a quadcore and 3 months to beat a pile of cards.
