If There was no discussion of BJ; no dissemination of ideas, then possibly everyone on this site would know little to nothing of BJ. If Thorpe, Wong, Sch., Snyder, Jacobsen, Qfit, Kelly etc. held their knowledge close to the vest we may know nothing or be years or decades behind in our knowledge.

On an open board we are not just talking to the poster, but to others also.

For the more advanced of us the mulitple questions of bet ramps, BS etc. may get a bit old, but we were probably all their once.

I at times also wish certain issues were not talked about openly, but I am also glad some issues are out their so I could learn from them.

If one thinks they have nothing to learn from someone, then they indeed will learn nothing.

However, did kewlJ say things I would not have said, darn tootin! So we do have points of agreement.

I couldn't agree more with the first part of your post, Avenger. I possess a pretty good library of blackjack books, including most of the basics that most serious players have. Some I value more than others and still re-read on a regualar basis, but I have learned so much more from my participation on a couple of these forums and this one in particular as it is the one I participate in most. For that I am truely grateful and try to participate often and share my experiences. Although I have had encountered no problems from doing so, perhaps as you and others suggest, I should not be quite as open about certain aspects.

Today is the first full day of autumn. Since I relocated to Vegas last December, I have split time between Philly and Vegas and now am enjoying my final days in Philly before becoming a permanate Vegas resident.

Thanx matt. Hope your 'keep going' wish refers to my year in totality and not the 1000 units that I had lost in 10 weeks at the time I began this thread. :laugh: I am trying my best to keep going. Have rebounded some in the past few weeks. This business is such a rollercoaster at times, and can test your will at times, as I am sure you remember.

Good to see you post again. Hope all is well with your pursuit of other advantage play methods.
