Rudest backoff yet

I've been in Vegas for a couple of days now. Playing unrated at Aria this morning, they finally had one double deck table at 25$. So I sit down and play after a few minutes I made a 150$ bet. A couple of hands later the casino manager comes over and says "No more blackjack get out of here!".
I have hit the MGM casinos pretty hard the last couple of days though. But that was my first time playing at Aria this trip. Guess I'm just suprised at how rude he was. I've been backed off several times before but it was always in a very polite way. Anyways I just wanted to share that.

It's common for pit to call half-a-dozen security to intimate you and then escorting you out of their premises.. Get out of here - is below average- of rude backoffs in my list..

I had a shift manager at an MGM store run out onto the strip to
find me and tell me that I am "through playing" at all MGM stores.

The rudest 86'ing may have been a loud and profane tongue-lashing
that I received at The Flamingo, long ago, when it had good DD games.

Actually all of the "trespassings" that I have experienced were horrid.
There were four (4) in three (3) states with the first being in 1999.

It's funny how Aria seems to be so much sweatier than other MGM properties. I would have thought than many of the personel came from other MGM properties and there would be more uniformity than there is. Their smaller, older, neighboring property just to the south is like night and day from aria in terms of attitude.

playing unrated, you were already established
as a suspicious character. They do not have your
name but they do have your photos, but that will not
remain long at the pit boss' podium as you were betting
lightly, maybe just 3 months.

Oh God yes. I've been chest-bumped out the door, had guns unstrapped and displayed, and also followed down the street. The most aggressive treatments I've gotten all involved male employees showing off for female employees. Always dangerous- men do violence over sexual humiliations all the time and you never can tell just how emotionally disturbed one of those guys might be, and you could be attacked if you respond in a way which humiliates him. (Note potential for +EV.)

I don't see what the point is. They don't have to say a word, all they have to do is stop dealing me cards and I'm going to leave, and they know it.

Yeah, this sounds like a pretty tame backoff. Next time you play unrated, wear a disguise and you can come back the next shift and be fine.

When I said I hit them hard I don't mean money wise just time wise. I would win a little bit at one place and then go to another property and give it back

Will playing unrated ALWAYS bring more suspicion. Does it depend on the unit size? Is it the same for 6 D shoes?

I think peaegg's post (#2) sheds quite a bit of light in this instance... Played at the same place very recently. Biggest win in a session my whole trip! :grin: No backoff even after 4 hours

Does it depend on the unit size?

The higher the level of betting the greater the heat.

Is it the same for 6 D shoes?

The temperature (of the "heat") is inversely proportional to the number of decks — which means that the lesser the number of decks the more heat there will be.

At MGM stores their shoe games at $25 and up are S17 LAS RSA for a House Advantage of just .26% The S17 DD game is .19% but comes pre-loaded with heat. Play the shoes. Greed Kills.

Flash...........If I am only going to go to Vegas lets say.........6 times per year, will the use of a players card be detrimental still. Though not using one will bring more suspicion, will using one cause more problems than not using one.

It matters not how often you'll be in "Lost Wages".

In Las Vegas the preferred style is to be a moving target.

Play in each joint a short session. You leave after any episode

of spreading anywhere near your max bet, OR winning a substantial

amount, OR 45 mins. have elapsed. You rotate shifts as well as casinos.

There are certainly other strategies as well.

You need to maintain a low profile and learn a good array of cover

plays and develop your camouflage. It is crucial for you to have a persona

that is that of a tourist or a degenerate or a casual player. You need to be

a relaxed player, who socializes with others and doesn't stare at the cards,

and doesn't wait until he has seen all of the cards before making his next bet.

That has happened to me at Aria, twice.

I played at another MGM property, head over to Aria, 30 minutes and only a 1-4 spread later: Tap.

3 months later: Play a MGM property, head over to Aria, 5 minutes later after no spreading: Woman sits down and says "This is your last hand."

They are sharp there. Real sharp.


My favorite experience was when I was cashing out at NYNY. I cash out, take a few steps over to a kiosk to see if I have any comps, and I see 2 security guards walk to the cage I was just at. I see the cashier point to me, and the security looked over and said "David?"

At that point I started walking as fast as I could, weaving in and out of slot machines, and when I hit the stairs I ran and kept running until I was out the door, over the bridge, at MGM Grand, then out the door there.

You know, you guys told me about aria before my trip, and i gotta say i didnt hve a problem there. I was notibly social with the pit, i spread really agressively at the 6 deck games upto three hands of chunky green, I played there a lot in my 10 day stay, but got nothing negetive or even any sign of heat, even after splitting tens at a DD game right in front of the PB

The Ceasars backoff was rediculous , it involved many angry people, two seperate confrontations....(at two different pits :devil: ) at one point handcuffs were shown, passages read, I think maybe 12-15 people were involved in all including a security gaurd on a security bicycle complete with led headlight follwing me to the sidewalk outside the building.

I was trespassed there too, although that was a decade ago.
When I got the boot there were two plainclothes security that were the point men.
A silent absurdly tall skinny (middle-eastern looking) guy, and a mouthy short blonde
Irish-American kid with missing teeth. Mutt & Jeff were really a scary looking duo.
