I have a beginners question.
When is it a soft total??
Is it all hands where a As is involved, or is it when you have an As on your hand that counts as 11 ??

A "soft" hand or total is any hand containing an ACE to which you can take a hit without any possibility of busting. Basically, it's what you said.

Ex: Ace/2/4 can be either 7 or 17. You can hit this hand with no possibility of busting (and possibly draw a low card that could improve your hand!)
