Players Edge blackjack is a variant of the regular game of SP21. Any two matching and suited face cards are auto winners. Insurance bet pays 10-1 if dealer BJ is suited. These rules should be player friendly by a good margin.

Hell'nBack,

Assuming insurance also pays 2:1 for unsuited dealer BJ, the player has a huge edge on the insurance wager. If the game uses 6 Spanish decks, the dealer's Ace has 18 suited faces plus 54 unsuited faces, so the EV is

EV = (18*10 + 54*2 - (287 - 18 - 54))/287 = 73/287 = +0.2544..., or +25.44%.

Hint: always take insurance!

Hope this helps!

Appreciate your response but what if the insurance pay off is even money on non-suited naturals? Is the edge then prohibitively lowered to make the bet unprofitable?

Hell'nBack,

Again, assuming 6D:

EV = (18*10 + 54*1 - (287 - 18 - 54))/287 = 19/287 = +0.0662..., or +6.62%.

Hope this helps!
