Stu "The Kid" Ungar

#1
what does the blackjack world think of Stu Ungar, and what bj related information do people have about him? i heard that he had a photographic memory and played a large part in single deck games disapearing and shoe games being brought in, is this true?

i also heard than while playing in a game with a six deck shoe he bet that he could correctly call the card values of the remaining 3 decks which he proceeded to do... i wouldn't have thought this was possible, anyone else heard this?

cheers

According to his biography, he read a few books on counting and augmented his general card savvy with the BJ fundamentals. He and Kenny Uston knew each other. He was universally barred at BJ but that doesn't mean he was neccesarily a strong counter - he gambled at many things he wasn't good at - sports - dogs - roullette - golf.

In a sense, Stuey was NOT a true advantage gambler - because while he was possibly the best at poker and gin, he was a total sucker at so much else. zg
