I'm sure someone on the sight that knows the theory will give you the correct answer, I will tell you from a practical players view. If true count is +3 and you are not steering or tracking then 3 hands would max. I assume you don't want to get bounced and are currently playing 2 hands so an extra hand is not too over the top.

The TECHNICAL answer to this question is - of course; seven hands. But as a practical matter; no more than three, for the reasons already stated. And besides, there are very few casinos that will even LET you play more than three boxes. Anymore; it's getting harder and harder to find a casino that will even allow you to play more than TWO boxes.

Just to clarify, you said to play 3 hands if you're already playing 2, would it be too obvious to go from 1 box to 3 just for the last hand of the shoe?

All of them. I've noticed that they make you bet twice the minimum for 2 spots, 3x for 3 spots, so it may be 7x the minimum for all 7.

It varies by shop.

I would say quite a few shops say in Vegas will allow you to play the same amount (black) on two or three hands once you are playing table min of black

At my local store I can play up to 4 hands at table min to max... one day I might actually have a big enough bankroll to employ a great cover strategy I read about... ;)
