I received this email from StanJames. com from their online casino promotion,

Stand on 19 or 20 and if the dealer beats you we will refund your stake in bonus chips up to $5 per hand.

They didn't specify which blackjack game is/is not allowed, so i assume single deck BJ applies to this promotion. so the rules are:

According to their T & C's only up to $50 bad beat bonus can be claimed. Question: can anyone calculate the house/player edge for the game with the bonus? cheers!

Dealer multi-card 21/Player 19: 1,824,175 times, 0.455% IBA, WR $2.27/hr.
Dealer multi-card 21/Player 20: 3,183,409 times, 0.794% IBA, WR $3.97/hr.
Dealer 20/Player 19: 4,216,159 times, 1.051% IBA, WR $5.26/hr.

Summing gives for the bonus: 3.042% IBA, WR $15.21/hr.

Overall: 2.877% IBA, WR $14.39/hr.

Not a bad game!

Note that these results assume the player's hand can contain any number of cards: from your description, I couldn't tell if the player's hand had to be pat.

I was on the point of adding my own reply, when I noticed that the original question was asked on August 15th, and the promo was on August 17th, so our responses are a little late.

But, in case of further such promos, here's the comment I was about to make...

You probably also need to scrutinise the terms and conditions for a precise definition of 'bonus chips', in case there are some restrictions on what you can do with the bonus cash. At worst you might have to churn it multiple times on slot machines before you can withdraw it.
