Which basic strategy?

#1
A quick question from a rookie. I have strictly been a recreational player and a very limited one at that, but recently decided to do some reading and try to improve my game. My question lies in the difference I have found in basic strategy charts. The casino I normally play at deals DD, dealer hits soft 17, DA2, and DAS. I just finished BBB II by Renzey and the way I interpret his information is to hit a 7,7vs8 and a 6,6vs7 while this site says to split them. Also Renzey says to stand on a A7vs2 while this site says to double. Am I misreading one of these resources, or is there just a very slim change in the probabilities based on these plays. Which would be the better play???

As a "tie breaker", go to www.wizardofodds.com and see what that strategy calls for. My bet is that it's going to be the same as what's listed on this site.

I glance at the following when changing from table to table if I am not sure:

Differences between games....S-17 versus H-17 Double-Deck and Multi-Deck plus some notes on splitting pairs.

DD
A/4 : 4 S-17=Stand H-17=Double
A/7 : 2 S-17=Stand H-17=Double
A/8 : 6 S-17=Stand H-17=Double
NOTE: Split 2's and 3's 2-7.
on 6's you split against 2-6 and a 7 if you can double after split
on 7's you split against 2-6 and an 8 if you can double after split
No more differences other than on Surrender options.

Multi-Deck
A/7 : 2 S-17=Stand H-17=Double
A/8 : 6 S-17=Stand H-17=Double
NOTE: Split 2's and 3's 2-7.
on 6's you split 3-6 (against a 2 only if you double after split)
on 7's you split 2-7
No more differences other than on Surrender options.
