I have ended 2008 a bit early as I like to avoid the crowded conditions that my home base, Atlantic City usually has during christmas week. 2008 was a pretty good year for me. Hope it was for everyone else as well. In this my fourth year of counting, I played more hours (1442) and showed more profits (1820 units) than any of my previous years. My bankroll has grown to over $20k, which means I can finally graduate to the $25 tables. yea! I've been spreading $15 to $150 most of the year, but now will feel comfortable going $25-$200. I tend to be very conservative with my RoR as my bankroll really isnt replenisible right now. Most of my play takes place in AC, although I was able to take week long plus trips to vegas in the spring and again just after labor day. I also play 3 or 4 days every other month in conneticut. A few observations about conditions I have noticed.
1.) fewer and fewer dealer stand soft 17 games which is bad.
2.) less crowded casinos with lower table limits which is good.
3.) fewer tables open as a result of #2 (above) making wonging in more difficult.
4.) Casinos are offering less comps, at least at my level of play. I can still get free lodging, but food comps seem more difficult. Comps are important to me as the help keep expenses down.
5.) penetration levels are all over the place, but can usually find a few reasonable games to play regularly.
6.) and maybe most important, I have seen no increase in number of CSM.
I thank everyone for sharing knowledge and experiences on this board. I have learned and continue to learn a great deal from everyone. I wish everyone a great holiday season and great success in 2009.
