What stakes do you guys play poker at?

Pretty ballin. My tournament play is pretty A+ but my cash game is quite lacking. Finding it hard for me to improve.

Save the Card Counters - Save the World

I tried playing it for a bit. Seemed kind of interesting I suppose, but was kind of boring. (Could have been because it wasn't for real $$ heh:rolleyes:)

What stakes do you guys play poker at?

Just curious as to what stakes some of you guys play at? Online or live? Tournaments or cash game? How has your experience been so far playing poker? Maybe if there is enough of us at the same level we could get a study group goin or something. I'd think it'd be interesting to see the...

    Blackjack vs Texas Holdem'

Variance. If we are talking about the WSOP, there are a bunch of pros that have multiple bracelets. Which means they do consistently well. Obviously the larger the tournament entrants the larger the variance. As for live poker, if you go and sit at a 1/2 table it will be pretty boring. 1. 90%...

The poker situaton I hate the most

So you think "raising for information" gets better the higher the limits you're playing at :S ?

The poker situaton I hate the most

Well this is definitely where hand ranges come in. Most players at 1/2 aren't thinking players. They look at their hand then the board and make their decision on what to do. On your example board against non-thinking players betting when IP in a checked pot will usually take it down. At the...

    Crash course in Texas Holdem?

Early game in tournaments is slow and boring, its just foldfoldfoldfoldfold. Late game is the place where you can get a little more creative and liberal and start opening up your range in position. Now cash game is a completely different story, you should always be playing deep stacked and...

The poker situaton I hate the most

Calling with a suited ace can be standard if its Ax suited, and you have good implied odds by having others in the hand. Axs is not a good hand to flat call a middle position raise with in a heads up pot. Now AJs isn't just an Ax hand, what can you really hope for when you hit Top-top? That...

The poker situaton I hate the most

Top top is not that strong of a hand. When some random player at a 1/2 game is willing to get it all in on the flop they either have an overpair or a set almost always. When you raise the flop, think about his range... what is he going to call with that is worse that he would raise in middle...

    Why I don't play poker!

I've faced way more hostility in BJ than in poker haha.

    AP interest in Poker

Thats why there is Bank roll management. Just like blackjack. Apparently Young Man doesn't have BRM down (for poker at least). You don't go bust repeatedly as long as you're not playing over the limits you should, nor should you be pissed when you lose one hand to a suck-out. So Young...

How to get more action in a nl poker game

You wanna play against players like this, they get their money in with worse hands. That's a good thing :D When I go to the local casinos I scope out the regs that I know are just there to gamble and know nothing about odds, and poker in general. Then I request to be at their table ^_^.

How to get more action in a nl poker game

I would definitely rather play with five other bad people, then 3 bad and 2 good for example. It's variance, if you can withstand it your edge is going to be a LOT higher playing with five baddies.

would you bet half of your entire session bankroll

Knowing you're gonna get an ace is a pretty big advantage :) I'd say yes.
