Blackjack, other AP gaming vs. stock market.

With good stock selection it is possible to achieve astronomical returns, just look at the share price history of some oil stocks to see what i mean. However, you need a good bank roll to play the stock market otherwise trading fees will eliminate your profits. Don't forget it's also possible...

So presumably you would call their all-in when you had the best hand? Case closed!

    AP interest in Poker

In BJ you control the size of your bet. In NL you should call a large bet if you believe you will win it. Therefore considerably higher risk of ruin. And if you don't call these high bets (when you should) you will be walked over by everyone.

    AP interest in Poker

Not much consolation when they raise you your entire bankroll and win the hand with what was clearly a much weaker position. Just how many times do you have to experience ruin before giving it up? The player with the highest BR has an distinct advantage. Perhaps if I played now it might be a...

    AP interest in Poker

I used to play poker a lot, was reasonably good. Problem is that when you play NL there is a very high risk of ruin. I would go weeks winning only to lose all in a few hours as a result of very bad luck. You can make all the correct decisions and still lose in poker. Plus it's a very slow...

Doubling down 11 and getting an ace

No worries, surrendering is rarely an option in UK so no need to think about it. I understood ENHC fine (though not the implications), the acronym was just jargon to me, now it's not. Now i also understand why i should no longer double on 11 vs 10 anymore. I've only been flat betting anyway...

Doubling down 11 and getting an ace

Why does KO basic strategy tell you to double 11 vs 10? I play in UK and follow BS from KO book. Why would it tell me the wrong thing? Is it because KO assumes dealer checks for BJ whereas in UK it's different as dealer only checks after you've finished your turn? What does ENHC stand for?

    Tales of a new counter

Haven't read that book but under the KO system for 6 decks you begin at minus 20 for a shuffled shoe.

Why is this? Ratio of high to low cards isthe same?

Settle an argument abouy # decks

I was discussing with my colleague that even if you don't count cards your disadvantage is increased if the casino employ a countinuous shuffling machine. My argument was the csm makes it very unlikely the remaing cards will have a favourable ratio of high to low cards because of the addition...

Best technique to physically count cards

Hi all, I've been training myself to count cards for a couple of months now and would like to get some advice on how you scan and count the cards in real play, how I can improve my technique. My Background Training OK, first up, I have no problem with arithmetic and have a maths degree...

Don't make the same mistake I made.

Yes, the free game is different to the real one. Exactly the same thing happens on online Roulette. Play the free game and employ a Martingale strategy and you will make thousands in free chips, make some really stupid bets (25% of BR) and see how difficult it is too lose! Try the same thing...
