The chances of getting separated from your bankroll at the police station (or hospital) I would put at a bit higher than 13.5%.

hahaha, this is a close runner up for replacing my current SIG!

I in no way count cards, I play by basic strategy and it seems to work.

I ended up losing the hand, had a 17 with the dealer showing a Jack. I ended up hitting got a 2 so I had 19 dealer ends up two face cards.
You don't play basic strategy. I see why people don't want you at their table.

Wow that's serious stuff. The forfeiture laws are as egregious as anything we've ever had under the Constitution.

What worries me more than this is not official corrupt behavior, but the kind where a couple of sheriff's deputies outside a backwoods casino discover I have $20K down my shorts, arrest me on a bogus charge and the money never makes it to the police evidence locker. They may also make sure I never get to tell the story.

And the most horrific of all are the EMT's and hospital personnel who will rob a person in their care.

All signs of a society in decline.

Well I heard it yet again tonight...after I split 9's vs. a 4..."Why are you splitting a winning hand?".

Oh, my answer was...resplitting, making 19, 19 and 20 and winning all 3 hands. :) But I "took the dealer's bust card!" and she made 17. The only player who lost though was the table "expert"...:laugh::laugh:

It's much worse in Spanish 21 - I always cringe when I get 13 v4,5,6 because I know someone's almost always gonna flip. I had this happen the other day at Foxwoods and I had to tap the table 6 or 7 times before the dealer gave me the card - he then rolled his eyes and groaned loudly as I bust with the card that would've bust him. He then proceeds to try to give me a tutorial in winning play. That (combined with the fact that he was the slowest dealer on god's green earth) made me color up before I did something that would get me thrown out.

Nothing beats the reaction for hitting soft 19 (rare though it may be) :p

Earlier this week, some 80 year old guy at the table was groaning at my Sp21 plays of hitting 13 v 6, etc. Meanwhile, he was surrendering hands like 13 v 7. I held my tongue, though...

My wife and I go to the local casino about once a month. I play BS jackblack, and lose at about the expected rate; my wife plays the slots and loses at about the expected rate (for our casino; no comment).

Almost everytime we are there is a "gentleman" playing - he actually works at the security company at where I work - and we get along like oil and water. He is a true believer of the "sacred flow of the cards", and anyone at third base better play as he would play. His basic play isn't close to BS.

It's gotten to the point where, even if it's the only place available, I won't sit down at the same table he is at, even if it is the only square available.

Last week as I was playing, during the shuffle I left to relieve myself. When I came back, he was at the table. Somewhere during the shoe (4 deck), I didn't play according to his rules (probably hit or doubled down on an A7). He blew up; I responded that "this is the way I play; if you don't like it, there are other tables". Fortunately, he left. (Others on the table did comment on "how rude he was").

Don't really expect a response to this, but it is an opportunity to softly vent about some of the idiots I have to play with.

Tell him he has two choices:

1. He can either buy your hand and play it however he likes.

2. Or ask him if he wants you to call the Pit Boss over--so the PB can personally tell him that everyone in the casino gets to play their own hand the way they want to--without interference from other players.

Best regards,

FD

It's even worse than that. Your $20K can actually even make it into the evidence room after being arrested, you're not beaten up, you have no criminal record, you pursue your money thru the courts and they still get to keep it after the courts rule possession of a large amount of cash is by itself evidence enough to seize and keep the cash.

In this case the dogs smelled some cocaine on some of his money but the guy I guess just happened to have in his possession the wrong bill at the wrong time. They never found any drugs, he had no criminal history, he had an explanation for the cash, he proved it was his cash. Didn't matter.

I recently saw a guy who, through his constantly telling people how to play their hands and getting upset when they didn't take his advice, made 4 different people leave the table in about half an hour. Funny thing was, the dealer or pit crew said NOTHING to him, maybe because he was losing quite a lot of money. Do most casinos act like that? I was expecting him to at least get told to shut up.

You asked:

"Do most casinos act like that? I was expecting him to at least get told to shut up."

YES. It is universal. It is not a matter of "free speech";
rather it is a matter of casinos refusing to offend their most moronic patrons,
as they are the best revenue sources that they have.

The real problem is that the patrons refuse to complain or speak up for themselves.

When they do, and I have seen this numerous times, when the moron is loud or vulgar,
the pit critter will ordinarily tell him that you have the right to play your hands as you see fit.

Of course you can just assert yourself and tell him that he is being rude and that unless
he wants YOU to play HIS hands he should not be telling YOU how to play YOUR hands.

Most importantly when speaking of the Sacred Flow of the All Knowing Cards, you must capitalize, as you are speaking of the religion of the vast majority of people who occupy blackjack tables.

Of minor importance, in comparision, is that guy at your table. Every casino has loads of these people. They bully the table with bad advice but what probably makes it worse in your case is that you work with the idiot. Just play your hand your way and though a counter may want to keep a low profile, being a BS player just tell him that or as others said, have him buy your hand for you.
