As another one of the less experienced participants (especially considering the company we were in) I'll second that. Sorry if I at any time appeared anti-social or not wanting to participate, I was just wanting to be very cautious not to step on anyones toes. Not having played or been at a casino with other counters before, I wanted to be very cautious not to seem over eager to observe anyone else's play or to play at the same table.
I was on the same page with this. Never wanting to make anyone feel uncomfortable while at a table, but its priceless to see let alone 2, but 4 APs at the same table and all ramping their bets up at similar timing.

One thing I need to work on and I think a lot of us 'young guns' needs to is our act. One problem with me is I'm a quiet (good looking) kid, and as Machinist pointed out tall and stand out. I think it must be I have a longer torso then others and I rise above everyone!

But the bash was fantastic. I wasn't sure what to expect seeing a bunch of APs around, and I was not disappointed even the slightest. The information presented by everyone was inspiring and will be attending the next bash.

And DaddyBo: I took me 3hrs and 20 minutes to make it home even with a shortcut! I was crawling over the ground at 100kts with that 46 kt direct headwind. We should have just stayed an extra week!

Thanks for the effort of setting this up and as CP said, "HERE IS TO THE REAL DEALS!"

:eyepatch::):band::1st::toast::celebrate

(Tried to out do CP with his smilies.)

Slot AP

Let me explain to all Machinist is a true slot and VP AP with many years at his trade. He is very hard nosed and dedicated to his trade. It was nice having him there to explain and tell stories about his trade and experiences.

I hope he did not feel out of place with us BJ AP's, but he should know we were very happy to have him and he was very usefull being in the back ground and at times relaying pit info regarding heat.

We will also welcome him at future events.

Are you convinced there is such a thing as slot AP?--------just curious.

Billy,

Yes I do, he even showed us an example, worked as he said.

My wife is a Math Proff. and has been going to the casino with me for the last 18 months playing VP and slots. She wins more on the slots than she loses as she seems to have figured out when a certain type slot and vp will pay, she only plays 2 types by the same manufacturer.

I am not a slot player except to play along with my wife, at times, just to keep her company...for me it will always be BJ;)

very much so. All it takes is about 5 minutes with Machinist and you will realize there is a whole other world in a Casino.

Sounds like you guys have found the dumbest casino in the country!
Well if they are dumb it sure is not hurting bizz...you are lucky to find a room there, usually filled... and you have a hard time finding seats at the tables and the slots are busy as hell and the restaurants busy. That is more than what the "Smart" and hurting casinos are doing these days.

No, they are not dumb, they are SMART AS HELL and do know how to run a profitable casino and have happy and plentiful customers.

Gotta admit that I'm very impressed with the Bash consensus in that Machinist is a slot AP. Can't wrap my mind around it, but I'm blown away just by the thought of it!

good luck :joker:

Private sharing of the games

Fellow APs,

I wonder why there is a big apprehension in sharing info privately among APs. I am new to this forum but have been a poster in BJ21 quite regularly. The value of the forums (atleast BJ21) is the networking opportunities. Today you ell me a game, tomorrow I would help you out. Ofcourse this would have to be an exchange so that the game itself is not burnt out.

Until you meet someone or just talk to them in a phone conversation, you have no idea who you are dealing with. It is easy to represent someone you are not on an internet forum and giving out information such as the bash location could compromise a great many people on this forum.

This is one of the reasons the bash is considered an invite only deal.

I'm sure someone else can add to what I have here.

Like ChefJJ, and others expressed, wish I could have made it.

No matter whether any of the attendees would feel the same way or not lol.

Screw the games, whether slots, craps, BJ, screw who won how much, screw all that boring EV stuff, meeting the guys here is "priceless". Like in some bad Masercard commercial or something. But, still, priceless,

I propose a toast to CP and Wise One for doing what they did. Ya didn't have to but ya did. Really, it's the absolute best in my book.

thank you for the toast and Kasi you would have fit right in.:)

by the way, when i had the great opportunity to share the tables with you in West Virginia i learned what i consider one of the most valuable lessons regarding playing blackjack that i've ever learned, just from watching you play.

that said we sure did have fun, didn't we?
and so it was at the bash with each and every person who attended.:1st:

i'd just add that it's the Stealthy Won who deserves all the credit for the bash, and he's another from whom i've learned a great deal about the game, besides just having a really great time of it with him in all regards.:1st:

same can be said for all of the MMOA crew.:) more on that later, lol, as i gotta get some zzz's

edit: oh yeah, and Y keeps asking about you, like where the heck is he, sort of thing and all, lol.

Well, perhaps many would expect me to be some sort of card-counting computer when, actually, I'd be the one pretty much the one playing a -EV game mostly flat-betting min lol. You guys have your goals and I have mine.

OK - you really got me with all that snow-job of learning something from watching me play?  What in God's world could you possibly be talking about?

This is like one of those shows where the "facts" remain the same, how could it be otherwise?, yet one guy says it was a 3 ft dwarf with red hair and the other guy says it was Marilyn Monroe.

My view of the same reality is I won like the first 10 hands in a row flat-betting while you got your ass kicked over the same period.

Then I started betting more and more like an idiot becasue I was ahead while you did your "fuzzy bet" thing and recovered your initial losses.

Much later, when we were finally done, fter betting more stupidly than I ever have, (that's your fault - I'd have been fine on my own with no-one to impress) I managed to finish, by the Grace of God, "dead-even". I think I maybe had brought $500 or so and found myself betting $100/hd in my foggy recollection of what happened while panic was setting in.

In a way, I guess, "mission accomplished" becasue I'm always thrilled to break even with my black magic - it means I finished ahead of my -EV.

What in the world, in your perceived reality, could you possibly think you have learned something from playing with me? Whatever you may think it was, it wasn't.

I don't know - you ever recall any stuff like I'd occasionally say "I got -2 - what u got? And you'd say "+3", lmao".

Truly, I felt I embarrassed myself by my own standards. I'm not good with an audience lol.

I was just lucky enuf just to still have enuf money to buy you an ice cream cone lmao.

But, whatever you think transpired, I know I had more fun than you did. No one could have had more fun than I did.

This is nothing personal...well yes, it is :( The value and knowledge gained from the BASH and the game.. is reserved for those who put forth the sizable effort to attend and even then they are vetted before hand.

As to networking opportunities, yes, that is a strong point with the BASH. Spend 2 or 3 days with others at the BASH and you form bonds and opinions and you do make a decision to pass info, with confidence and security, back and forth among the BASH members, MMOA, members.

There is nothing more bothersome than to have someone who did not make an effort to attend, did not attend, and then PM's BASH members and badgers them for location and other confidential info. When this happens we feel we are being *PLAYED* by someone who thinks they are being "Mr. Slick". We feel disrespected when this happens, and that is NOT a good thing.

This is not BJ21, and I doubt anyone here wants it to be like BJ21, that is why many came here. BJ21 is not an *instant* badge of honor or a credible reference in my opinion.

I will not give info to anyone that I have not formed a bond with at the BASH.

There is no Brotherhood of counters, AP's. The only Brotherhood I recognize is to BASH members and the MMOA. All the info I need to know is found in that database, and it is extensive and trusted. I have met some super pricks at the tables who were AP's, so just saying you are an AP means nothing to me.

Waugh, with your claimed experience I would think you would understand in advance the above principles and I would hope that you would now respect them, at least on this site.

Maybe next time.

You are always welcome.

lmao ..... red headed dwarf :p vs Marilyn. no contest.:cat:

no, but what it was, was how you played.
because no matter what emotions, self doubt, concern over what impression would be made or what ever....... you obviously played with a great level of confidence, just as much confidence or more so than the dealer. that represented to me a great level of knowledge that i finally realized that you possess.
so like if you did have emotions, self doubt or other concerns well, it didn't matter, just like Evel Knievel, when asked if he was scared about jumping the canyon, answered " it doesn't much matter i'm going to do it any how."

many on this site have posted about essentially playing like a machine or a robot (while doing so the right way). well, i have my reservations mentally about that, i guess but i would just say that your play was as if that of a well oiled machine, lol.

so really it was your lack of hesitation over playing the game the way that you knew or believed was the right way, that stood out to me.
i mimic that manner of play to this day. i'm still scared as hell, but heck like Evel, i'm gonna do it anyway, so what does it matter, sort of thing.

I have met and played with several members of this forum. I've been a member here for quite a while.

I'm also on bj21, for less than a year, and have not met or networked with anyone from interactions on that site. It's probably just a matter of time and familiarity.
