Dealer Mistakes

I hope this will fly in this section. This is in reference to 3CP. I'm sure that BJ applies also. I have been playing a good amount of 3CP lately. What i have noticed is that all the dealers are required to learn all the carnival games. So every dealer deals all the games at one point or another. Sometimes it will be weeks before they get to deal 3CP.
I have been playing small stakes and slowly ramping my bets up. I never let any of the dealers underpay or over pay me. Most of the pit now knows me as a ploppy that never has a bad day. I assure them all that it's not their fault that i am losing!!!
So i figure i have caught around a thousand dollars of mistakes for the month, just on my hands. I have witnessed numerous wrong pay offs.
Now everyone knows i will always catch their mistakes. So i finally made the concious decision to start scooping up the mistakes. It's alot of money!!!
And hell i still haven't beaten the game yet either..... LOL....
I don't want anyone to get fired. And if the mistake is caught it is easy enough to rectify it as an honest mistake by all....
Is this a real common deal in the pits???
I also find it at 4 CP.
I don't know just an observation, and wondered about everyone elses experiences...
Also have a few other experiences i will post later on......
Take care all

It's 100% the casino responsibility to pick up on their own mistakes, or preferably (for them) to not make them.

I wouldn't mind playing a game where dealer errors cover the house edge and then some though

Yes! I too employ the "Robin Hood Rationalization" in responding to my inner-ethicist !

The casinos are an evil industry with a 'mission statement' that could easily read:

"To do our utmost to separate the lumpen proletariat from their non-discretionary funds,

while distracting them with lies implying that they can win."

HI Machinist.. For me it depends on which one of me is playing that day! I mostly try to "fix" pay errors... but there are days when I just let 'em go if they are in my favor...:whip:

I must be evil, because I never rectify mistakes made in my favor. In fact, I glace around the table to see if anyone has noticed and then scoop the chips up (original bet and all) before anyone picks up on it. then try to distract everyone by making the conversation about someones hand on the opposite side of the table.

In one place I go to every week there is a dealer who has overpaid me twice. I have only been at a table with her maybe four times since I've been going there. She's either a lousy dealer or thinks I cute. I haven't figured out which yet.

Geez.... How can you live with yourself?

How do you even sleep at night?

Not only do you scoop up the money but you even try to cover it up! :whip:

I hope you're playing 3CP at an advantage...

I had a nice hand recently - had 3 of a kind and dealer paid me 6:1 instead of 4:1.

4CP? Why?

He takes advantage of an opportunity given to him by the casino and he tries to avoid detection. Sounds like every other AP that I know of.

Sorry for my bit of sarcasm.

Why say anything, then you become a cheat.

Just wait for the cards to be picked up and discarded then scoop up the money. You've given the dealer all the time she needs to pick up her error, if she didn't, oh well.

The stores lose, my gain.

So should I count cards for hours at a time using a players card and no cover at all? That way I will give them all the time they need to catch their error. If they catch me, oh well. If they don't, my gain. :)

I mostly let dealer over-payments go. I'll correct them occasionally.
What bothers the hellout of me is when another player corrects a dealer mistake in my favor. Last trip, I busted with 22 but the dealer paid me when she busted. A-hole next to me called the pit guy over and asked if this was no bust BJ and told him what the dealer had done. It was only for $5 or $10 dollars but it bothered the hell out of me. For the next hour, I did everything I could to make the guy miserable, blowing smoke in his face and jostling him whenever possible.

Let's be honest here

Maybe I'm the first AP to publicly admit it, but when I am in a casino I do NOT behave morally. I take advantage of situations that I normally wouldn't. I take advantage of people - pretty badly sometimes. I sometimes lie to people, or at least mislead them intentionally. I specifically target people who are weak and sometimes considered helpless. I often conspire with other people to help pull off a play. I make no appologies and I make no attempts to justify my behavior. I am completely honest with myself and everyone else about it - I do NOT behave morally when I am in a casino. I get the money LEGALLY. I guess that makes me a bad person. So be it.

Perhaps you should consider mugging drunks. much less time consuming.
If the drunks offer me a legal game of skill I might accept their challenge. Until then, the drunks are safe from APs.

And if the banks start saying "Come on in and try to take our money. If you do it properly it's perfectly legal!" I will consider that challenge as well. Until then, the banks are also safe from APs.

So there are no other APs who will admit to some of the behavior that I described? At least I'm being honest.
