Thanx

Thanx for the kind words.

I am grizzled veteran of the BJ Wars as so to speak.

It took me a long time to bury my greedy impulses and learn to play for longevity.

I was once a genuine whale. Now I am the ultimate grinder.

After decades of Pro play I am very happy to grind out a nice tax-free middle-class income.

Does that include your "40-60 hours/month" of play at Foxwoods? Didn't you recently say that "all" the legal games in New England were "unplayable"? Color me confused.

Clarification

Please excuse my seemingly contradictory response. I was clumsy.

Earlier in this thread someone had "DEFINED" what he felt were "PLAYABLE" games.

The New England BJ games do NOT fit THAT rather demanding definition.

As I am a professional grinder who plays 2-level counts with a huge bankroll the Foxwoods games are quite satisfactory for my modest goals.

A lot of playability has to do with scouting. Pen varies significantly at M.S. from 75% to 60% at 6D. I have seen this a lot over the 11 years. Foxwoods is more stable, and sometimes 8/2 is a bad table. One can BC 2D and have ample play. Thats an advantage unseen at M.S. especially weekdays. Thats kinda ironic to say this as M.S. gets way more AP from what I've seen... at times its been scary AP, the obvious brazen type. After one particular incident with many "checks play" calls, I sensed a lot of photos being taken.

In late August I played a $5 dollar table at about midnight on a Sunday, I couldnt believe it!! I got backed off a year ago, spent my bankroll and havent been back since (except for the vist mentioned about). Are the crowds down becuse of the economy and gas prices, it sure seemed it.

I very rarely saw anything less than 2D cut off at Mohegan (even that was a "good" cut). Unless things have changed recently I wouldn't say that scouting is really worth it.

Mohegan is plagued with bad pen and has been for a while. Still worth checking out though, and there are other AP opportunities that exist at Mohegan that aren't at Foxwoods.

Care to elaborate? (Privately if you prefer)

There was one dealer in MS that dealt deeply regularly, but I haven't been able to find him on my last few trips down there.

I find that for backcounting and wonging you cant beet MGM, there is always a lonely dealer or someone playing heads up, you can just wait and jump right in. As for heat at foxwoods and MGM lol its a joke unless you play awful with 0 camo, if your playing under 100$ min you should not worry at all. THat is the biggest casino in the entire world they have bigger fish to fry i assure you. The pen at MGM and foxwoods varys from dealer to dealer but for the most part it is pretty good ( i find a toke or two can improve the pen with some dealers). Mohegan on the other hand has awful pen and is very crowded, now i hate to say this because i love moheagan and have booked some of my biggest wins ever at there store, but the conditions just seem to get worse and worse. On another note the comps are 10 times better at foxwoods then mohegan. It took me only about 2 weeks of twice a week to get RFB, and a decent amount of points built up.
I hope this helps a little if you have any specific questions feel free to PM me i have been playing there sence i was 17 with a fake id, i live 45 mins from both places, I know the staff well and have good general knowledge of both places.

Yes, S17 except for a couple of tables at MGM.

(I wonder if the pit tracks those tables less; a little more spread or play time will compensate for S17/H17)

How much does your avg bet have to be in order to receive RFB from FW or MGM?

I would recommend mgm over foxwoods because there were some aweful dealers at foxwoods. great pen but lousy shuffle and a dealer that was slow that cut off less than one deck.

I agree, all of the competent employees have been creamed off Foxwoods and taken to MGM and what is left at Foxwoods is dregs, both staff and customers. Sullen, no English, slow, sloppy. Foxwoods proper is now a fully Third World experience.

Still, I get so much action in there I can't afford to lay it all in MGM, too much exposure.
