Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Conditions

Idk what you gotta do to get FRB, i played there a couple weeks ago for the first time because i was REALLY bored and felt like driving for hours, i played 6 HOURS at foxwoods, with dual 100 dollar bets and couldnt get a room for one night, the told me they would take 40 off the prcie and it would be a ~50 dollar room, it was a good deal, but it was 4:30 am and they said that i woudl have to check out by noon, i hate that ****.

I gotta say both casinos were awsome, the grandure and size of mohegan blew my mind, while foxwoods was smaller, i actually liked it better, reminded me of the hilton in a way being so small and personal with everybody who was there. I got a little heat at mohegan, but it was easily dismissed, at foxwoods, there was almost no heat whatsoever, all the people working the pit were young and probibly inexperienced, and i felt like i could do anything and them not give a crap.

If i recal correctly, mohegan was 6 decks all around and foxwoods was 8 decks, both casinos were atlantic city rules + conventional surrender penetration seemed about 75% but sometimes better in the 8 deck games at foxwoods.

The shuffle at foxwoods was very crude, and often got cruder if you appeard to be in a hurry to get through it to playing the game, the plug at foxwoods was placed ontop of the discard tray and not broken up AT ALL.

No parking fees at either casino, whoo!

Huh? Foxwoods was, until very recently, the largest casino in the world (Venetian in Macau is bigger). I suppose a pit can be "personal", but the place is enormous.

There are casinos that charge for parking? Wow. I've never been to one without free valet, even. Guess I'm spoiled.

I do have an appreciation for Mohegan Sun actually having an Indian theme. Too bad their games aren't better.

A.C. parking fees

"There are casinos that charge for parking?"

In Atlantic City there are parking fees, but presenting a player's card will reduce or eliminate the fee entirely, although the level of the player's card may come into play.

Ah, yes. I've never driven in AC myself.

well it was my first time there, somehow im gogin to predict that there are seperate gaming areas other than the one i was playing in, that i was unaware of, kinda liek it was at mohegan, where thee are more tables if you just keep walkign through the slot machine rows and through the shopping mall.

Is this the case with foxwoods? i played only in a table games area surrounded by slot machine which was surrounded by a fence isolating the gaming floor, which was further surrounded by a dance club, and the hotel check in area, a restaraunt called Juniors, and an apple store, is there some HUGE gaming area i DIDNT walk to that would make it much more worth the drive?

You were in the MGM (small casino). Foxwoods is way down the other side about a 1/4 mile walk, go through the MGM casino, up the escalator, down a long hallway. I believe there are 3 or 4 casinos in FW and each of the casinos are 2-3x the size of the MGM.

OMG i went back to "FOXWOODS" this time, it is definately huge, three times i got disoriented, looked around me and saw nothign but slot machines, i had to ask a floor person where the table games were so i could get back to buisness. It was funny, that while being completely lost and having no idea how to get to my car, i fet strangely at home in a sense.

Anywho, foxwoods has two table games areas that i found, penetration was consistantly excellent for an 8 deck game with 1-1.5 decks cut off, surrender is a allowed, s17, in case anybody cares,

they had all of their dealers wear jerseys today, i guess because its game day which i thought was cute. MGM had the football game playing right on their electronic table minimum signs!!!! it was the best excuse to sit at a table and not play EVER in the history of blackjack, "no ima sit this one out its a close game here"

the hrr at mgm was empty. I played at the same table on the floor($10min)and this dude wouldn't give me the cut card, was pissed because if you cut the bottom 3rd deck the count would go down to -14 in the first 2 decks...

$5 BJ at Mohegan

They just started a guarantee, $5 Bj tables in Pit 9 24/7. I wonder how the pen is at those tables. Does someone have a report?

The pen has consistently been terrible at Mohegan. There's a rare dealer cutting deep, but 2/6 or 2.5/6 is typical. I doubt this table would be any different.

MoSun $5 BJ pit

I was there today. The tables were jammed. My quick walkabout revealed same lousy pen as in the rest of the casino, and the usual Match the Dealer side bet, which slows play to a crawl. Two things new for MoSun - ASMs (though they still did the hand shuffle after removing the cards from the machine, at least for now) and (I hope this one doesn't spread to the rest of the house) hitting soft 17. Can eight deck shoes or 6:5 be far behind? Two other disappointments: pit near the buffet in the Sky Casino now has Match the Dealer side bet, and, though the place was busier than I had seen it in ages, another entire pit in the Sky Casino was closed, maybe due to staff shortages caused by the recent layoffs.

Foxwoods and MGM have been really dead lately. I am there 2/3 times a month and few tables are open until later in evening.

I play at MGM all the time now. It's newer, dealers seem friendlier and the waitresses are knockouts.

I have also been spending more of my time in CT at MGM rather than the old casino. One odd thing though, I went for a day trip a few days ago, but I called to check for reservations a week in advance just in case I decided to stay overnight instead. The result: all properties booked up, with the exception of an availability at the MGM for which they were asking a mere $650. Guess those lowered Las Vegas hotel rates I enjoyed haven't hit Connecticut yet...

Was there a show that night? rates always high when show that night. I have good luck getting good room rartes when planning ahead. I have a suite for 2 nights this week for just $74.00 per night and a adjoining room for $39.oo a night. Check on line ahead time you might make out better.

I went to MGM for a few hours yesterday afternoon. The place was alot busier than it has been. All tables opened and full.

They added the foolish money wheel. Need more Texas holdem tables instead.

The dealer said it has been more busier and MGM is hiring 85 more dealers.

According to the dealer the HS room has been more crowded the last few weeks.

Mohegan Sun 5$ Tables

Mohegan Sun advertises $5 tables 24x7 on their web site. I visited three Saturdays in a row, the last time was the Patriots Day Holiday, April 20th. On my first visit 3 5$ tables were open. On my last visit 12 5$ tables were open. I would have to wait for a seat after taking a break, but not long.

H17, DAS, surrender, 8 decks. Dealer consistently marked off 1.5 decks for the reshuffle point. Was comped $3 and change for 12-plus hours of play flat-betting $5 most of the time. Wager up to $500 on a hand. These tables are for fun. You will be playing with some rank amatures who buy $20 in chips to play and don't know the game. Not many players abide by basic strategy. Match the dealer for $1 if you want to bet with worse odds.

My favorite moment was a couple of young ladies trying to cash slot tickets for chips. I tipped the dealer occasionally, and he mentioned that I was the only person who had tipped all day.

H17 on an 8-decker is always painful to see - and surprising in this case since they don't even hit 17 on their 6D games. I guess you get what you pay for.

Still, 1.5 cutoff on an 8D - if that is accurate - is a hell of a lot better than the 1.8-2 deck cutoff that they give on their regular 6D games. In fact, that increased penetration combined with the $5 minimum makes me want to have a look at this game. $5 minimum makes a play-all game with a 1-24 spread feasible for my bankroll.
