I took a 9 month break from the AP life and then decided to return to the grind last week. I was playing a four deck shoe, spreading 1-3 ($10 minimum bet). I quickly notice a player across the pit who has a 4 large stacks of red chips and he's following every card. I'm thinking to myself, "Newbie counter should be decent cover" and I'm relaxed, talking to other players at the table.
Not 10 minutes after sitting down, I hear the phone ring and the pit boss is talking to surveillance. She mentions "twins" and then points in Newbie's direction and then mine. The man to my left jokingly tells me, "Hey! I think she thinks you're the next guy from 21!" I reply, "Wow. I didn't realize I was a big celebrity."
I look at the pit boss and she stares back at me for an uncomfortable 10 seconds. I'm not threatened by her and I believe the only reason she let me and newb stay was that we were playing small stakes and weren't worth the trouble to permanently bar from the casino. The newbie had no idea what was going on throughout the entire ordeal.
I realize that I've pretty much had my shot at this casino and I would the opinion from some of you professionals. Should I go out with a bang and keep playing until I get barred, or should I lay off? (I've only experienced heat at 2 casinos and this was one of them).
