Maybe this is his "cover", and he really is a nice guy outside the casino

But seriously, I know most of us on a Friday night standing and waiting for a seat can't help but hope for someone to bust out, at least maybe subconsciously,
yeah it's like, well you know the civilians are just sitting there losing their money (albeit they may be on a lucky streak), blocking your access for some plus ev plays. so it's like you don't wanna wish bad luck on them or anything, just you want to get that seat and get those plays in, sorta thing.

Every time I've harassed some loser at a 3CP game nobody knew I was doing it except the target. I do real subtle things that nobody else notices. It's not like I'm standing there throwing drinks on them. I do things like breathe on them, tap on their chair, fart, etc.. One time I was on a game (playing from spot 3) trying to get rid of the guy playing spots 1 and 2, and kept talking to him, and kept asking to play his hands that he's folding (he kept saying no and was getting annoyed by it, so I kept asking). Just standing very close to someone for a while makes them uneasy. Yes, I HAVE drawn heat doing this one time, and in that case I left. Other times the tactics didn't work and the ploppy kept playing, but there are times when I've gotten them to change their mind about buying in again at that table (They would do something like pull out their wallet/more chips, then look at me, then decide to go to another table or something). If people tell me to go away and start drawing attention to the fact I'm standing there, then I'll leave, that's happened one time. Most ploppies just keep looking at me uncomfortably but don't say anything.

Funny thing is for stronger games like BJ it's actually easier to get rid of someone. I've run people off BJ games real fast. Basic strategy for getting rid of a target at BJ, is every time they win a hand I change the # of hands I play (play 1 hand, play 2 hands, sit out). I told some lady she was stupid for standing on her soft 18 vs dealer 10 (dealer ended up having 20) and that's why she's losing, and she got real pissed and left immediately.

You insult some lady at the table! Gee, come on now! People should have risen to her defense and told YOU to move on.

YES! He finally lost all his chips! Aw crap, he's reaching for his wallet...
exactly, but whatever, yah just kind of gotta try and second guess some civilians as far as what they are gonna do, sometimes it's best to just move on and try and find another play, maybe come back a bit later when you figure they'll be likely to move on, sorta thing.
what's even worse is when another AP wants the seat you are after.

Yeah, well it wasn't the kind of woman I'd want anything to do with so I didn't really have a problem with it.

Would never annoy a hottie at the table ;)

Its best to remain silent and be thought a fool than open ones mouth and confirm it.

In my cirlce, we have a name for people that behave like you. It's usually something like the guy with his two arms in casts or some such affectionate nickname.

Ok, well when you're losing a $200 - $thousands / hour opportunity you'll think a little differently.

The first thing on your mind at that point is how to get rid of whoever's in the seat.

There ARE teams who do things like spill a drink on somebody. Insulting someone's play is a pretty standard tactic to get someone off a game.

Usually after I do that one I'll walk away for a little while

Some players won't take a shower for a while... I couldn't stand doing that though

Might want to check those figures again. I believe I recall you mentioning playing $100 units at OCP? Maybe I remember incorrectly, but if not, you're awfully optimistic.

Yes, there are people who do horrible things to innocent people in this world.
You use that as an excuse! Just man up to the fact that you insulted HER, not her play. She didn't do anything to you on purpose. These type of things is why counters get a bad name. "Anything goes as long as I get my game."
Sad way to live. That lady could have been anyone's mom or sister. How would you like your mom treated that way by some mean spirited jerk?

This guy is a complete joke. I think he just lost all credibility here in this forum. He should just pick up his marbles and go away.

Actually I insulted her play. I said something like "That was stupid not to hit that (soft 18). That's why you're losing"

This was after 15 minutes of me going 1 hand - 2 hands - sit out and her getting angry about that but still not leaving, but she was grumbling about it every single time i changed hands. That comment pushed her to leave. And I'm not denying the fact I was being an asshole. (and btw, at this point the table cleared out 5 minutes ago except for her, and of course she's the one in the seat I needed, and the relief dealer was leaving in about 2 minutes and I didn't want the main dealer to see any of this crap) I've worked with other players and they use similar tactics to get people off games. Change hands, play stupid, harshly criticize ploppies on their play. Counting is totally different. For that there isn't 1 particular seat in the entire casino that you need for your play. After I get the seat I need then I can be the most pleasant person at the table. Noone knows that I was just (literally) breathing down someone's neck 5 minutes ago. After all, at that point I AM having a good time. I'm only miserable when I can't find a game or can't get on a game.

If my mom was sitting at a blackjack table first thing I would say to her is what the f is wrong with you? If I saw her buying in I'd take her money and rip it up. I wouldn't support my family throwing their money in the garbage. My dad was telling me how he played roulette one time. I cut him off and told him playing roulette is stupid. (And for the record, my parents quit going to the casinos a long time ago. They realized how stupid it is) I just can't have a conversation about non-advantage gambling. I always tell my friends gambling is for suckers / the stupid.

I don't know why he has to play when it is so crowded he can't find a seat. Most of the week casinos have plenty of seats at the table.
Because at any given time, there's maybe 1 or 2 seats in the house that I can make a profit at.

For the line of play I do, there's a lot of discussion on the best ways to get people off a game.

Typical OCP bets are 2 x 150. For BJ it's 2 x 500. For certain other games with a 20%+ edge it's 1 x max
