Risk of not giving players card

I've noticed when I sit down at the table and buy in for either 1,000 or 2,000 that when they ask for a players card and say "no I don't have one" they always fire back " well we can get you one" I say no thats ok, but it seems to throw a flag up of being a CC. I mean how many people buy in for that much and don't ever ask to be rated or ask for comps. Is there any suggestion to get around this?

Get the card, get the points. Get lucky too if you can.

Not having a card can pull heat - but also makes you more immune to receiving comps. As a player who believes you should get EVERYTHING you (legally) can from a casino in return for your patronage / play, I'd always suggest a players card. With or without a card, if they don't like your play, they have the right to ask you to leave. At least with a card you might leave with a few comp dollars or gifts.

If you are identified as a card counter while using a comp card under your own name, you will not only NOT get any comp dollars, you will also likely be barred and have your name and photo circulated around every casino in the corporate chain or even the city. Counting cards under your own name is a good way to have a short career as an AP.

this is why I don't throw a card out, I was hoping there was a way around it to not bring heat. I guess just say I don't have and don't want one.

Walk thru the slot area and grab a card somebody forgot. It works 99% of the time. If you are questioned, say you had left your card in a machine and walked away. When you went back, you took this card out of what was evidently the wrong machine.

Maybe a bit dramatic if you get nailed at smaller stakes, but getting flagged while using a player's card does virtually prohibit the use of same player's card to play any more BJ at the casino, as well as giving the management a (probably true) name to associate with the face that they just backed-off.

I used to have this problem too , now I'm just buying for $300 and if I need more money I can always buy more, I find it lower the heat especially in the upscale strip casinos where $300 are peanuts for them.

But from some reading of your prior posts I know that you are very very aggressive player, so heat should be no concern to you anyway, and shoot and run is the best and only strategy for you.

Just play your game for short sessions with no concern for any cover plays or heat issues.

Good Luck.

Thanks Sonny, these are some real good comebacks if they keep hounding me for a card. Im prob. good for 5-6 free nights of comps off of my old play b4 I was a AP. I don't play BJ at my "home casino", but if I do I will play it a bit more straight up, hell a guy can always get away with a couple 10x spreads with a good show.
