vegas baby

vegas, never been there....... till the other day, lol.
geesh, it's a monster in the desert and one finds ones self wondering if there is an oasis any where or just mirages, lol.
just was only there about two days so we couldn't see much of it, but what we did see was enough, shweewoo. sure is a lot of sick crap there, but like if you look at vegas as if it was one big joint, well my guess is vegas is like any typical joint, ie. a whole lot of worthless crap, with a smidgin of juice hidden hither and thither.
of any joint there that we went through i liked the El Cortez the most, at least for table games, sweet!:)
whatever this whole road trip, damm, what an experience, gonna take me months to digest all this.
edit: i jus know one thing for sure, if there has been any experience that whipped my a$$ the most on this trip, it has been walking around vegas, hell climbing a mountain in the desert were'nt nuthin.:cat:

right you are CP, at least just me maybe, but i felt a lot more comfortable and have done better with the DD than sd.
on the stories, tell ya what my friend i can't even begin to tell the tale.
like, today, it rained in the desert, who'd of thunk it, lol.
dunno if you've been to the El Cortez, but believe me it's right up your alley. Y and i had been discussing how it was much like some of the really cool places you introduced us to.:cool2:

Rain in the desert. wait to you see tomorrow. One of our good old fashioned wind/dust storms is brewing.

Any problems at El cortez, Frog? They are notorious for a having a short leash, although personally I have played there many times and only experienced one very mild episode. I try to hit when the asian ladies are running the pit. They seem more easy going.

There's no rush. Dribbling out anecdotes for weeks or months after you get home would be perfectly acceptable. But yeah, we wanna hear this stuff!

no problems but then i never once raised my bet, lol, but Y & i did have the asian lady crew. get this the first day i played a really great double deck game, second day i thought i was playing it again, so i'm trying to double after a split, dealer says, sorry you can't do that. i say well i did it yesterday on that table over there.... dealer says, well that was double deck, this is single deck. live & learn i guess.
whatever Kewl Won, i gotta say from what i saw of vegas, hat's off to you making it work as you do, you must have one heck of a game plan as far as how and when you attack the various joints, cause man vegas is way big, way spread out and i wouldn't doubt always coming up with changes so as to pull the rug out from under yah. all the walking, cost of gas, parking charges (maybe) and all.
so many of the joints don't even post rules, and so many don't even post what a snapper pays on the table, they just leave it blank. maybe i suspect they do that so they can decide on the run to make a game 6:5 or 3:2 sorta thing, geesh, what slick bassturds, lol.

well anyway, we have our son watching our pets while we are out west here circa 2,500 miles away. so one day we get a text, that our son let Sadie out and she disappeared, didn't answer his calls and he couldn't find her for over an hour. think Y and i were in a panic? ever seen a grown man cry? talk about a helpless feeling, hell we even called the dog warden back home, lol, he even had reports from people about a poodle running lose through town. well anyway thank God, with the help of the areas she was seen in our son found her. lmao, she'd been out with this rouge boy friend of hers gallivanting about on this near by horse farm, apparently the two of them chasing horses, lmao.

notice those barrel cacti growing right out of the rock nect to the petroglyphs.:)
note: this wasn't just some tourist trap crap, it was the real deal stuff, my tour guide was Macho, lol.

vegas, grand canyon & demo derby

ahh ok so we went to Vegas, cause of time (two days) well we could see just so much.
what ever all the huge corporate glitz, just me maybe, what crap....
like ok the sphinx and pyramid, impressive, but ok you get inside and what's an AP got? damm little, lol, seems that's how it is just about every where, slim pickens. pretty much the same crap over and over what ever joint you go in it seems, excepting maybe for a AP tid bit here and there, it would take some big time scouting, note taking and planning for an AP to efficiently work Vegas, it seems to me.
anyway my favorite joint was the lil ole El Cortez, quaint, good games, not noisy and full of nothing but glitz like the big corporate joints......
lesson learned, 'the grass really isn't greener on the other side of the street', i can do just fine in my few lil joints around home.
then there was the real plus EV like, good company, inexpensive rooms, great food, the grand canyon, the demo derby and the desert. unfortunately there is no desert close to home, but again the grass is definitely not greener there .

Interesting you feel that way Sage.;)

I have found excellent BJ here in the Midwest in 6d and dd without the higher minimums needed to play them in much of Vegas as well as great VP and slots and craps. Comps in the Midwest can also be excellent as well as the nice green scenery in summer and the great bodies of clean water. Some of my fondest memories are playing BJ during the winter and stepping outside the casino to go back to my hotel in 25- weather that resembled the Arctic in every way possible as well as those incredible summer experiences.

I am sure Vegas has alot to offer the knowing BJ player, such as KJ, Bojack, Maz, CAA and the LVHCM,,but I can be happy here in the growing Midwest gaming Mecca.

See you and Y and Macho at the Bash where I am sure some interesting topics will be discussed.:)

Friend,

Sounds like you guys, (sage, CP, Macho are just a bunch of "good 'ol country boys". Nothing wrong with that. :) Can actually come in handy during the holiday, by saving on gifts, considering often your wife and sister are the same person. Just kidding guys. Not you guys of course....., um, not right??

I wouldn't count KJ as a knowing BJ player, Mr Panther. He is still trying to figure the whole thing out.

Midwest sounds interesting to play some BJ. I have very limited experience with that and am going to have to expand my horizons on that front sometime soon. Probably during summertime months, though. 25 degrees below doesn't do it for me. I don't even own long pants.

I have recently been scolded by a couple Vegas based pros for "encouraging" players to come here, so I am now redirecting the migration to the midwest.

KJ.......wait a second!!!!!!! I would never recommend the midwest games... First off the michigan and minnesooooota and wisconsin people talk real funny. Did I mention the mosquitoes in the summer. And the tourists jamming the beautiful lakes. We have horrible storms, hail, tornadoes. The humidity in the summer is horrible. Please please stay away......stay west....California is the place to be. !!!!!!!
Or here's a secret I don't let out much..........Oh Canada!!!!!!!! Yea don't. Believe them canucks they lie.....its the land of 90%pen and the the finest rules!!.
CANADA!!!!!.! Go quickly!!
