I'm glad that someone brought this subject.
IMO one should be extremely careful playing blackjack in the high limit rooms at the indian casinos. There's little or no traffic there , and only god knows what they do with 6 decks when no single patron is present which happens basically most of the time.
I've been short decked and lost over 30 grand in 1 session (lasting about 4 hours with no negative counts ever happening). I should have known better when the PCs never gave a damn about my 1-80 spread for hours and hours.
After confirming my doubts after many sessions as player & bystandard , I sent a letter of complaint to the State gamining commission. Got the reply saying that they'll investigate. After a year , I went back to the same place, and it was business as usual. Huge positive counts, and still little or no face cards comming out of the deck. Ploppies merely just complained that they can never win in the high limit pits while reaching their pockets for more money. I knew better, this short decked BJ game has worse odds than the 25 cents slots!
The morale of the story is that there's no government/local/enforcement that will protect the interests of a gambler. you 're on your own. When there's serious money envolved, there won't be 'integrity' in a game of Casino
If you have to play a high limit blackjack , just forsake the High limit pits and play in the lower limit area with high foot traffic. At least the chances of playing a rigged game will significantly decrease although it won't guarantee 100% as I've seen even the lower limit blackjack table in that particular casino and couple of others littered with short decks!
