The HiLoLite Blackbelt treatment is superior to Wong BECAUSE the important elements are more clearly deliniated AND the chart(s) are simpler. As for JMay, er arrgh ahh mmm... don't get me started.:eyepatch: zg
i'd have to agree in that Blackbelt In Blackjack is easier to wade through than Professional Blackjack. i came to the conclusion that Professional Blackjack could have been structured better presentation wise. Blackbelt In Blackjack is superior in that regard. IMHO Mr. Snyder could have named HiLoLite better. i'd prefer it be called HiLoTrueEdge. (truth be known i don't even know if Mr. Snyder was the originator of HiLoLite) . but anyway i don't see HiLoLite as superior to HiLo. granted you know the true edge with HiLoLite in that the true count value becomes correlated to the advantage. but that requires dividing by two on top of figuring the generic true count. figuring out the generic true count is enough fun as it is with out having to then divide by two. just my opinion everyone else's mileage may vary. i mean what are you going to do once you know the true edge? the only thing i can think of is your going to determine your bets and determine if you should deviate from basic strategy or not. well with generic hi/lo the prepared practitioner will have his bet scheme already worked out according to the various true counts and the generic hi/lo practitioner already has Wong's charts and the volumes of informtion ala Schlesinger from Blackjack Attack at his finger tips. said generic HiLo practitioner will also have Snyder's charts and considerations also at his beckon call, but he will have had to correlate that information before being able to relate it to generic HiLo. also with HiLoLite if i'm not mistaken you stray numerically from the value give by the true count of generic HiLo which gives you an understanding of what the composition of the pack remaining to be dealt is with regard to the relative number of high weighted value cards to low value weighted cards.
to my way of considering the seminality of the various authors and the literature it's more what the reader does with them all and the understanding he gleans from each. after that it seems a matter of personal preferance.
i won't say which author i prefer over all  at least not in this post.
