The intitial question was $400 for 6 hours of play. I would take the poker player hands down due to the deviation of BJ and very small BR.
However, if both players had $10k and one week of play then without question the skilled BJ player will come out on top.

All things being equal - it is not clear that the best poker player has the lower SD... UNLESS he's playing small tourneys (maybe). zg

Raise the BR to $250K, and the BJ player will be making more money. The reason why is that at high stakes making money at poker is tougher simply because there are skilled players at those tables, while at the same time as table limits increase BJ games tend to get better and heat is the only problem.

Exactly what I was going to post, except I was going to say $100k instead of $250k. lol

(Who was the person who voted blackjack? It's 21-1 right now and I'd be curious to hear them defend their opinion.)

It is def true that a poker player would make more in 6 hour time.
I personally played poker to pay for my first two years of college and all other expenses. To tell you the truth I do not know why i decided to get into counting.. maybe it was a break or the fact that I just like expanding my knowledge but at poker you can make way more out of 400 dollars.
An average pull for me at 6-8 hours at my casino at 1/2 blinds 100 or 200 max is about $800 peaking around 2k


The arguement that it is harder to make more money in a higher stakes table is something I do not really agree with. Although the players are USALLY better does not mean there isnt money going all over that table. If you are better than the players there you should still make money if not quicker. I would rather play a table with people that know what they are doing and about at my level than play at a table full of new players that dont have the slightest idea what they are doing.

$400 should be enough for a 6 hour duration for the best bj player in the world to make the risk of ruin not so high assuming you're at a $5 table.

$400 with a 5-$50 spread is 8 max bets. Not enough for a 6 hour session (probably need 12-20). Probably enough for a 1 hour session.
