A much cheaper approach
I would think the cabbie would run the bill up on a guy who trusts his judgement on blackjack games. For less money than what that cab ride will cost you, you can get the rules and approx pen on every blackjack game in the U.S. and Canada.

Lots of S17 DD on the LV strip. A cabbie probably won't know which ones. Buy CBJN and tell cabbie where to drive you. Cabs in LV are shakedowns. Avoid if possible.

Do not trust the LV cab drivers. They will take the long way to everywhere. Most know nothing about the game besides. Do your homework including knowing the streets between the airport and your hotel. I used to tell the cab driver how to get me to my hotel etc. My cab fare was cut basically in half compared to my early visits.

Some cabbies don't like being told where to go; I've found that, at least at the Bellagio, there's a easy way to indicate you're not f[ool]ing around - when asked where I'm going, I answer, "Bellagio, side entrance if it's faster." I've also used, "Paris, any route except for Las Vegas Boulevard." It also cuts the annoying "first time to Vegas?" chatter.

If you're willing to go off strip, try Station casinos.
Ok how 'bout this. Is there plenty of playable DD for someone playing quarter minimum?
I don't want casino names at this point, just whether I can go to Vegas and keep myself busy at only DD for 3 or 4 days.

Yep... good luck on pen on the DD though. It's hard to find any worth a darn but there is plenty of DD.
Most houses have a certain cut spot, if you see how deep the dealer cuts you can find some at 75%. The "Railroad casinos" are like this.

CBJN is always a good place to start the hunt for a good DD game. if the rules and table mins are right for you, then you have to do the PEN reconnaissance on your OWN.

Yeah. My guess is that Vegas is more likely to be accurate than other places, but I've certainly seen some wrong info in CBJN.

Generally there is a date for the area or the casino which notes when it was last reviewed by someone for CBJN.
Places like Vegas, Reno, AC and other casino destinations are reviewed constantly, while areas where there are few casinos might show a date well over a year old (or several years).
If you live in such an area and can review the rules, pen etc for CBJN, I think you can work out a deal for a free copies or something.

That would be nice, but I provided information about two casinos a few months ago, one of which hadn't been reviewed previously, and didn't even receive so much as a "thank you", much less a free copy. :flame:
