ace/5 count

better than a kick in the head,but nowhere near as effective as any counting system that counts 10s and small cards.
Has anyone compared the A/5 to OPP or Golden Touch yet?
 
Wasn't the A/5 count the primitive count first used by Thorp in Beat the Dealer? Maybe I've got it confused.

i've heard that the touted figures on OPP are inaccurate (ie it's not so good as was originally thought)....
according to John May's chart in Get the Edge at Blackjack here are the figures for the Ace/five count: play efficiency = .09 , bet efficiency = .55 , insurance efficency = 0 .
compare to hi/lo : play efficiency = .51 , bet efficiency = .97 , insurance efficiency = .76
should give one an idea of the relative power of the Ace/five count

HI , do you know the play/bet/insurance effciency for the red7 count, just so i can compare with KO and HI/LO.cheers

hey BJL it's as follows:

red7 pe.54 , be.98 , Ie.78
ko pe.54 , be.98 , Ie.78
hi/lo pe.51 , be.97 , Ie.76

according to John May Get the Edge at Blackjack he warns that the numbers are approximate.
