C'mon moo. Check your numbers, you could win $1million but could never get $1million EV counting cards in a trip at the LV blackjack maximums.
Million $ blackjack players. Hyland, Grosjean definitely. Forte, Dukach, Chang probably. Snyder, Wong, Cagno possibly. All of these players used edges larger than straight card counting of course. I would be skeptical if anyone claimed to have netted $1million in EV just straight counting cards. Kevin Blackwood claims to have (on this site no less). Maybe he did but I am inclined to think he had a few other tricks mixed into that bag that helped him get there.

intellect and wealth have nothing to do with each other. I have plenty of wealthy clients that I have to be patient with, or I have to explain circumstances at an elementary level for them to comprehend matters. And these are multi store, multi million dollar, enterprise owners!! Also take for example the many wealthy hedonistic scum of socialites and society. AKA Paris hilton, kim kardasian, playboy girls next door, the hills.
Then there's this guy who believes the pursuit of wealth and fame is an empty one at best.
I know several people who have won over $1,000,000 in their careers. One counter I know has made a six figure income from playing blackjack for the last 25 years. That puts his lifetime winnings over $2,000,000. Many team blackjack players won over $1,000,000 or chunky six figures but had a majority of their winnings to to investors.
I know one player personally who has won over $2,000,000 straight counting since the early 1980's as a solo player. He is a rare individual.
A seven figure trip win at blackjack would be pure luck...even betting orange.

A million dollar cumulative win doesn't seem that unobtainable to me. 
Seems more about longevity. I mean if you play 25 years, you need only average 40 grand a year. I am well above 40 grand in earnings and EV for my last couple years and I don't even play the best games nor play at all that high of stakes, so I am sure someone like Mr. Blackwood, who sought out, and played the best games for many years is well over a million dollars for his career. I am not sure why this is such a measuring stick anyway. Someone who goes to work every day in another field and makes a million dollars over 20 some years, probably isn't even considered middle class anymore.

I recall, as a Junior in High School, my teacher showing us aprint-out he'd gotten from Social Security showing he had earned just over a million dollars in his forty plus years of paying into it. I thought it was a big deal. I passed that mark some ten years ago and didn't even give it a second thought until recently when I realized how little I had to show for all the money I've made, and I save at more than triple the average Americans rate.

I didn't say EV. I just said you could win that much counting if you had a large bankroll. And playing at a private table could get you really high maximums.

Of course they did,but an awful lot got pissed away. Smoked five packs of smokes a week for almost twenty years,put small fortunes into rebuilding a few cars that were total moneypits. Then was the whole tipping thing. Talk about blackholes.
