I cant wait to get a real BR to play 5 min bet! I am a poker player too so if anyone needs advice in that area i can give the info on that subject more times than not

IMO 4-8 and 3-6 limit games are not beatable because the rake is so huge.
You would be better off playing a low buy in No Limit game.
Personally, I can't stand no limit, I find it excruciatingly boring, but until you have $8k and can play 8-16, I think it is the only reasonable option.
Also, spend time scouting for hole carding opportunities since you can get such a big edge if you find a consistent flasher. My buddy found a dealer that flashed every hole card in a $5 shoe game. Of course he lost $1500 :laugh:

I don't know where you're getting these numbers, but they don't sound right to me at all. 4-8 and 3-6 are quite beatable if the game is right, because often no one even knows how to play. 3-6 with 8-10 players seeing the flop is very playable.
And I certainly don't think you need 500 big bets to play a mid-to-low limit game.

I'm still not sure $7500 is enough, but it's better than $1200. That should be enough to grind out an ok living at $2-5 NL or 10-20/15-30 Limit, but it's still a bit dicey.
I wouldn't recommend going pro in blackjack without $20k or more, assuming a straight counting approach...Really, the best way to do it is to team up with several others and either run a BP team or do EMFH for black stakes.
Shad, I'm always on the prowl for coupons. Also, I have no problem at all eating buck doubles, actually I very much enjoy my buck doubles.

Here's a free tip to those who love arby's roast beef sandwich's. When you make any purchase, on the back of your receipt there will be an offer to fill out a survey which you will receive a confirmation number upon completion. This will get you a free regular sized roast beef sandwich. Redeem that receipt for your free sandwich and you will get another receipt! Repeat as many times as you want! The confirmation number is 4 numbers long. So far I haven't faced any sort of verification upon redemption, so any 4 numbers should do just fine. :grin:
You sound pretty solid, but if there's one weakness I can pick up from your posts, this is it. IMO, the Arby's diet will bring you to ruin faster than that low BR. Just to reiterate what your parents probably already tell you...eat your vegetables and get plenty of exercise. I know your young, but staving off mental fatigue is all part of the game and a diet of this stuff won't do you any favors. Best of luck to you

Sadly, there is only one Arbys in all of NYC and they don't participate in this promotion.
BTW- Checkers, Burger King and Wendys have similar promos.
BK- fill out the recipt and buy a drink and fries for a free whopper.
The other two are buy a drink and take the survey for a free large burger.
Amazon has it, with free shipping for a $25 order, or you can get it from the publisher or at most bookstores.
I don't believe they sell it at the Vegas airport.
Many people enjoy playing blackjack for a weekend or two once in a while, but playing bj day in and day out is a chore. It becomes quite boring. It is bad for your health, (sitting still for long stretches of time with cigarette smoke being around you most likely) and can be quite stressful especially for someone like you who has a very low bankroll. Just wait until your car needs a big repair job or your rent is due and your bankroll has been cut in half after a bad day at the tables.
Poker is even worse. It requires even more discipline than blackjack because it can be very tempting to play hands you shouldn't be playing because you WILL go on a run where you don't get any good hands for hours at a time and when I say good hands, I mean something better than pocket 8's or a,10 suited. The players in poker at least in AC, I can tell you have gotten much better since say 4 years ago. It used to be on the whole that you could win just by playing premium hands but not anymore. At 1-2 n/l, you'd have to be exceptional to be making more than $20/hr over the long haul. That means not only knowing what hands to play, but knowing when and how to bluff, how to utilize position, being great at reading other players and also being able to act very well not to mention being good at math (have to be able to calculate pot odds fairly rapidly)
Blackjack is the easier route to go if you ask me, but requires a much bigger bankroll to get the same win rate unless you're at an absolutely fantastic game. My advice to you if you still intend to go through with this is, save up, then give it a trial run and then if you're still successful after playing full time for a few months and haven't lost your zeal for the game, consider making it a career.

Limit poker is huge on variance. Many mid-stakes pros recommend 500 big bets for 20-40 & 40-80, 8-16 is probably weak enough to beat with less, but if you are playing for a living, I wouldn't recommend it.
As far as 3-6 and 4-8, you might be able to beat the drop under the right conditions, but it won't be for much.
I played part time for quite a while, mostly 20-40 and have friends who have become quite successful, and feel confident I'm speaking the truth. Anyone that wants to study the game, I'd recommend spending time at twoplustwo.com and checking out deucescracked.com for great instructional videos. disclaimer: I'm not involved with DC, but I do know one of the founders, "DeathDonkey"

OP - I hope you really like playing poker!
I play BJ with a team and we seem to take trips 1-2 times per month and this particular trip lasted over a week for me.
After 6 days straight of playing, I was on my way back to the casino on the 7th day and then just turned around. People think its all fun and games but its work!

I doubt anybody can make a serious living on a 10 - 20K bankroll without taking some serious risk of ruin on it or playing a very very strong game (in which case they would be increasing that bankroll very rapidly)
I only made 2500 in EV from gaming this month (plus another 2000 in EV from promos) working with around 80 grand , which barely pays my living expenses. Had a very hard time finding games this month.
Practically zero casino related expenses though. All hotels/meals are comped as usual. Still riding out some comps I earned from previous play when I went on a hot streak and made around 12000 (11000 from gaming, 1000 from promos) in EV one month (which unfortunately ended with a back off)
I cannot imagine how difficult it would be if you're playing with scared money and have to pay for your own crap at the casinos.
