6:5 display not required anymore?

Was at PH. None of their SD tables had 6:5 displayed anywhere. I asked the dealer and she said everyone knows that SD is 6:5, so they don't need to display it anymore. Went to Paris, same thing. Is this legal?

It's probably not legal. Some really bad games on the Strip pay 1:1, how do we know it even pays 6:5? Call Gaming.
 
You know what.....so what. Find the way to beat this game. There are APs all over the place rockin 6:5 games. Being a fully functional AP means you have to adapt as the game changes. I can't play bj the same as I did 15 years ago, the game has changed and so have I and thats cool. Everybody complains about how bad the games are getting......thats bullshit. Heres a secret, the casinos change the games in their favor thinking they are safe and can make big profits. All that means is when you find a way to beat them they don't know it for a long time and you can play without cover or worry for a long time. Don't be angry or scared of casino change for what may appear to be for the worse, get off your lazy ass and embrace your new found opportunity!

Don't worry about my 6:5 attacking ability. I am very capable of hitting this game profitably in 4 different ways. My purpose of starting this thread is to alert BJ players(not only APs) as to another scam being brought on by multinational corporations. If one was an AP, one would almost certainly know that SD on the strip is 6:5. Shadroch is correct in saying that it is the norm. But that is not the point. My point was to find out if needing to display the BJ payout is legal or not.

Not sure then, I assumed they were! Harrah's original still has 6:5 written on the felt for SD. Last night, I scouted venetian, Palazzo, Wynn, and Encore, and they still had it marked.

Are 8 deckers more prevalent now? venetian and palazzo had a ton of it. as did PH and paris.

I asked the dealer if that was against the law and she replied no. I told the dealer not to worry, I will find out if PH is breaking the law for her. Can't go back on my word now.
 
Whether they have a 6/5 sign or not, why not just screw with 'em.

Buy in for $500 or more. Ask what do blackjacks pay.

Then cash out.

Go to a 3/2 table.

Repeat as needed at different casinos.

They'll drop a lot of cash and their large denomination cheques will empty.

We need somebody to go to an unmarked 6:5 table, play until they get a natural, then sit there and call Gaming to report a mispay until they get the full 3:2. My guess is that once the pit boss realizes you are serious and a Gaming officer is coming to the table, he'll give you the full pay and tell you to get out of his casino. A few incidents like this should correct the practice. Casinos cannot be allowed to just pay whatever they feel like.
 
well this is no bueno so far.

called a gaming agent today. he told me that "for him", as long as the specific game at the specific casino is registered and licensed with the state, including all rules and payouts, there is no requirement to display anything. He did say that there is a house licensing dept. that could go further in detail about the matter, but they won't open till monday.

I agree that not clearly displaying the payout is, if not technically illegal, consumer deception.

All games (including but not limited to Blackjack) should have their payouts clearly marked. I am a libertarian and thus loathe suggesting regulations, but there is nothing wrong with regulations preventing fraud, and not informing consumers about the full gaming conditions is fraud IMO.
