Hi all I paid a quick visit to the Bellagio last night and had to leave in a hurry, before I could visit the cashier's cage. Now I have all these chips to cash in. Any idea what I should do?

For those of you who didn't see the news, there was a robbery of $1.5M in chips at Bellagio. I presume AM's post is a joke. If not, AM call me - someone we both know is arriving in LV today and can probably help.Hi all I paid a quick visit to the Bellagio last night and had to leave in a hurry, before I could visit the cashier's cage. Some of the chip denominations were as high as $20 thousand.Ok, I understand going to the table and having your way because you have a gun. But loading that many chips into a bag would take a long time and even if you DID manage to load up the chips, how on earth would you make it to the door?!?

My last trip to Vegas was a few months ago and I'm in no hurry to go back. I thought conditions had significantly deteriorated and it was a very inefficient place to play, searching for opportunities. Especially disappointing was some sloppy dealers had clearly been retrained at dumps I would never walk into otherwise. What's the world coming to?God I'm so dumb, but for real, you guys should totally come to vegas so we can play together.
Good luck to him trying to cash in those chips.:laugh: You don't think security will be on anyone's ass in 2 seconds if they try cashing in a $20,000 chip?
Most of the chips had to have been extremely large denominations, since pictures of the thief running showed he had no bag--the chips were stuffed in his pockets. I am not a poker player, but I have never seen $25,000 chips in poker room. Even $5,000 chips would draw immediate attention in most large poker rooms. Besides, surveillance will have pictures of everyone introducing the chips into the games, plus they'll have the player's card IDs of most the players. Those without player ID's, but utilizing large denom chips will command instant scrutiny. One way or another, those chips are going to end up back at the Bellagio, and that's going to create a trail back to the robber. The poker room is a good idea, as they will make less of a splash if they end up being played in a NL game. (Never played NL, are you allowed to dig into your pocket to call a raise?) The casino isn't programmed to see what happens in the poker room as a threat to them. They can be passed around a group of accomplices in the poker room over a period of time to obscure the trail. In fact if they only keep tape for a week, they could pass it around in there long enough so that the scene where it was originally brought into a game is lost.
