I was playing at a joint and I motioned very clearly to hit. The dealer pauses and his face makes weird contortions. I again signal that I would like to hit. The dealer still does not deal me a card and says are you really going to hit this? I again in an agitated manner make the hit signal. He says but you have x... I lost patience and said that I was well aware of what I have and again signaled almost banging my hand against the table quite hard for him to hit me. He shakes his head acting like he thinks I'm an idiot and deals me a card. (Maybe he was trying to stall to get the PB's attention or something, I don't know) but I pull a 21 and the whole table starts whooping and hollering. I gave the dealer a stern look to his face wanting to tell him he can kiss my a$$ and that he doesn't know jack about black jack (no pun intended). After that, he was too embarrassed to say another word to me for the rest of his shift. :grin:

Good. Sometimes dealers, especially in smaller joints, can forget who's supposed to play the hand.

I had a dealer who wouldn't let me hit once. I had soft 18 and he had a 10. I motioned for a hit. It was bad enough with the other people at the table "helpfully" pointing out that I didn't need to hit, but the dealer actually covered my cards with his hand and said I couldn't have another one because I already had 18 
I was playing at Trop. last April, dealer was new, goofy, fumbling around. I went back in Sept and he was a pro all of sudden, telling me all my bad moves, trying to give me a few "helpful hints" I liked him better when he knew he didn't know anything. It felt great taking his table for about $750 that night. Of course it was just dumb luck according to him, I smiled and agreed as I colored up and cashed out.

It happened to me all the time when I had 13, 14, 15, or 16 and the dealer has a small card. Sometimes I have to hit a hard 17 when dealer has the ace and the index demand me of hitting.

I definitely prefer tables where the dealers don't talk at all and just deal like robots.

Dealers shouldn't care what you do with your hand. Sure, some might ask "are you sure?" if it is a move that, in their dealing experience, isn't normally played. But give me a break...it's YOUR money!
Sadly, I've seen the opposite many, many times. Ploppies will be hitting, standing, etc on hands that make absolutely no sense. Dealers won't question their play and what do you know...ploppy is now broke.
In my experience, you get less of a ploppy dealer at the $25 and higher games.
But as I said, it's YOUR money.

This sounds a little risky to me. Probably not as bad as hitting a hard 17, but it's up there. Sacrificing plays like this doesn't hurt EV much in those special circumstances, and game sounds like it's worth preserving!

I get a lot of dumbfounded looks on that one too. Amazing how many times that play is correct and the dealer says, "Guess that was the right move"
I assume you saw three cards that you shouldn't have. The dealer's 6 in the hole, and the 4 T waiting to be dealt.
