Surrender while using a MP

It's never come up while I'm playing, but how would a casino handle a $25 bet with a MP if player surrendered?

The one store I play at regularly that offers LS is the one store that doesn't do Matchplays.

I would guess there are three possibilities. They just take the coupon, they take the coupon AND 12.50, or they just take 12.50.
I would guess the third scenario is the least likely.
 
They rip the coupon in half.

In all seriousness, as Blue mentioned I've never encountered a store that had matchplay and surrender.
 
Interesting thought, Mr. Shad. I have taken to playing more MP's in the last 6 months, but like everyone else haven't encouted that possibility. BUT, I would think they take the coupon. Surrender is not a push. :confused:
 
It depends on the casino. At FW, surrendering a hand with a MP coupon returns half your bet AND your MP. This means that you will be surrendering nearly all stiff hands vs big cards. Most casinos in Vegas, IIRC, loses you the MP and half your bet, meaning you never surrender

Some casinos offer Late Surrender, a rule allowing a player to forfeit half his wager on his initial two-card hand, after the dealer has veried that she does not have blackjack. Even the ne print does not explain how this rule is applied to coupons, so the opinion of the pit boss will carry the day. On a match-play, one interpretation would be to forfeit half of the live money, along with the
entire coupon. With this implementation, the player should never surrender, because he is giving up too much.
