Did you buy the book <Professional Blackjack>?

Hi everyone, i'm a beginner. Should i buy the book <Professional Blackjack>?
but it was published over 10 years (1994), is it still vaild? Please advice! Thanks!!!!
 
Blackjack Bluebook by Fred Renzey,if you have zero BJ experiance.
If youve played a little, I'd throw in The Blackjack Zone by Elliot Jacobson.
The second book is especially good at breaking you off any bad habits or misconceptions you might have aquirred in the plopy stage.
Jean Scotts Frugal Gambler series is great for learning your way around the casino comp systems, which can be an important part of your BJ winnings if done properly.
 
"Professional Blackjack" is absolutely fine for a beginner.

I suggest adding to that "Blackbelt in Blackjack"

and "The Theory of Blackjack", 6th edition.

Yes, Professional Blackjack is a very good book. It was one of the first blackjack books I bought. I bought the black hard cover book. I think it was a 1981 edition and still have it. I have since also bought the 1994 edition.

I think you should ask yourself what counting system you are going to use. If you are a beginner you should probably use Hi-Low or KO. Professional Blackjack describes the hi-low and halves count. So if you are going to use Hi low get this book for sure.

Another good beginner book is Bootleggers 200 Proof Blackjack. It assumes you know nothing about the game of blackjack and goes on from there. It is a very good book for a beginner and also describes the hi-low count. The best part of this book is that it gives optimal betting ramps. Optimal betting isn't mentioned in most other books especially older books. Also any book that mentions the U.P. of MI has to be a good book.

You will first need to memorize blackjack basic strategy charts and the best basic strategy charts to be found anywhere are right here at this site. The basic strategy engine.

i have basic knowledge of blackjack and I use Hi-Low (actually I just know hi-low, is it the easier way the win blackjack?). So I don’t know which book should I buy?
1) Professional Blackjack is it still valid since it was published in 1994.does it teach you how to use hi-low?
2) Blackbelt in Blackjack  For beginner? Which technique does the book introduce? Easy to read? (since I’m not good at english)
3) Blackbelt in Blackjack (II) For beginner? Which technique does the book introduce? Easy to read?

Or I should buy more than one?

Its a good book, but personally I was never too crazy about because he groups the indices into more easily memorizable groupings. I know the argument is it really doesn't matter too much, but eh, I like to see if an index is 3, 5, etc.,

Personally I thought "Blackjack: Play Like the Pros" is a good starter book for noobs, despite it telling me the index to 66 v 7 is -16, and other slight errors.

If you are going to use high low get Professional Blackjack. It is still valid today and this book is probably considered by most to be the bible for high-low. It tells you how to count with high low.

I believe Blackbelt in Blackjack uses the Red 7 count which is an unbalanced count. I myself prefer balanced counts.

If you want an easy read get Bootleggers 200 Proof Blackjack. No big words. It is written for the average Joe and also teaches you how to use hi-low. It also gives optimal betting ramps.

I do believe Stanford Wong is working on a new edition of Professional Blackjack. I think he is planning for it to be a e-book.

Wong's Pro BJ is my most referred-to book as it has nice, concise index charts. Otherwise, I found the text not very useful and somewhat haphazard in its layout.
 
Read Blackjack Bluebook II by Fred Renzey-he's a member of this board and is great about answering our questions. Learn the KISS III count explained in the book. Practice,practice,practice-go to the casino and get the $$$.

If you are going to play blackjack now, don't wait to buy a book. The cost of a book is so small in comparsion to your other costs that you should really buy several books.

Professional Blackjack is a very long book with a lot of information. It is focused on two count systems. The Hi-Low count and the Halves count. If I remember correctly, it also has a chapter on playing double exposure. It has alot of information that may scare off a beginner. There are all kinds of charts in the book.

Blackjack Bluebook by Fred Renzey use the KISS count which I'm not familiar with. It is an unbalanced count and also requires suit awareness. I myself would go the KO route as it is rated easier than KISS. Here is list of the most common counting systems out there.

I will stand by my original recommendation that if you are already have some knowlege of hi-low then go with hi-low. If true count conversion is going to be difficult then I would use KO which is probably the easiest counting system out there.

I think maybe the first book you should buy is Bootleggers 200 Proof Blackjack. It isn't a real long book has big print and is easy to understand. I would then buy Professional Blackjack as my second book. Of course if you are going to go the KO route, then you would buy Knock Out Blackjack.

If you want EASE of use then Hi-Lo is for you.

That does NOT mean that it is a powerful count.

It is satisfactory.

KO and KISS are just as good as hi-low but are easier to learn and use.
