Where do you play? How are the games? Best and worst place/time to play?

im a student at the u of A in tucson i like desert diamond it gets croweded at night/weekends. during the day its usually empty. they have bad pen at their 6 deck but it is all S17 and they do have a 3 deck game with 25 dollar min. with LS now. s17 as well.

Casino Del Sol is about 15 mins away from there but it is better pen but it is all h17. LS as well
 
3 Deck Games?

What's up with 3 deck games? I've never heard of that until I started reading about AZ casinos. Is that the norm in AZ?

Everywhere else I have ever played its 1,2,6,8 decks usually.

They are only in Tucson. 4 deck games in Phoenix.

At one point early in my career I played 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 deck games within the span of a month. I've only seen the 7 deck game once and I'm not sure if it still exists. There are plenty of the others still in existence though definitely 3 and 5 deck are fairly rare with 4 deck being much less rare.

I'm thinking Little 6 in MN has 3 decks too.
 
Phoenix area casinos have only 4 deck and 6 deck games. No SD,DD or 8D.

Never seen or heard of 3 deck.. I may have to check out desert diamond in tucson.. Is that indian owned?

Trust me it would be far more ridiculous if it were hand dealt. I even prefer double deck dealt from a shoe. I will admit that the time I played single deck dealt out of a shoe, it seemed kinda funny. Although I did love the use of a cut card. Very nice to not have to play that cat and mouse game with the dealers.

Why cry about a shoe? pitch is easier for card mechanics to cheat you. Alot of pitch games dealt face down. The same shoe games face up. I am an easterner and don't get out west much so this is an area I am a bit ignorant about but inquiring minds want to know.
 
The only benefit to pitch is you can POSSIBLY (that being the operative word there) hole card those games.
Generally speaking shoes are much more desirable. Harder to cheat, game is much faster, etc.

There are a few tactics you can use in pitch games too, but most of these are once per casino tricks anyway...
 
So, while in AZ recently I checked out Talking Stick Casino. It seems like all the games I saw there were 6 decks. I looked really hard for those 3 decks games, but couldn't find them. Was I missing something?

The 3 deck was in Tucson AZ.. about 1.5 hours south of phx.

high limit uses 4 deck I believe.
 
I would be far less worried about cheating at a 3D pitch game than a SD pitch game (dropping my overall level of worrying from not worried to not worried at all!). I think it's very unlikely that you'll find a mechanic that can skillfully perform moves on 3 decks of cards; what I would expect would be a bunch of normally tight dealers that find the feel of 156 cards difficult to manipulate properly...
