Interesting event yesterday...

I always play at the same store and have been doing so about twice a week for the past couple of years. I play long sessions (like 6-12 hrs) at a time. I have never received any heat but yesterday one of the PBs commented on how I always know when to increase my bet. I usually spread 1-8 or 1-10 playing all green. He asked me if I knew how to count and that he doesnt care if I did know how to do it. Obviously I had to play dumb and say it is too hard for me and I can barely add up to 21. Was he fishing or just genuinely not caring. It was an EC store btw.

A back off or worse a barring or trespass is what every AP should use their common sense to avoid. You can usually see it coming. Unless the game is barely playable, I would use full caution not to start a history that hurts your future earnings. Many APs don't seem to understand how important the skill of playing within a casinos's tolerance level is when it comes to long term profits. I know some people like to use systems with to small a PE and though they get their big bets out at the right time but give a huge chunk of the return on all their bets back to the casino by turning some wins into loses. This makes a larger spread more necessary but that spread has a huge variance due to the low PE. This is bad enough but when you add the added heat into the equation, you really need to know when it is time to give a store a month or 2 rest. Far fewer games are playable and you can't afford to burn them out. If you can balance the big bankroll necessary with enough common sense to keep your most playable games from being no longer an option for you this formula works quite well but that is a fine line to walk.

I think he was one of those who probably knew but didnt care since the game is not that great. I also mentioned to him that CCing is too hard to learn w/ multiple decks and he agreed. I also went ahead and played for 12 hours w/o any problems but I will stay away for some time. Interesting is that my host was hesitant about offering me additional comps when I requested them. He claimed that I have been on a winning streak.. Just a coincidence?...who knows

Known counters are often tolerated. However, they might wait until you are having a bad bout of negative variance, then pull the plug. From their point of view, there is some poetic justice in that.
