They would rather issue raincoats and galoshes first in my experience, even when the table is saturated and they aren't able to get it completely clean and dry.
 
I imagine it depends on the casino, the drink and the location of the spill. I wouldn't want to play on felt with sticky orange juice. And they don't want additional cards marked. And if I were another player at the table, I'd leave before he spilled a drink on my lap.

They generally clean all visible drink up from the table with cloth or vacuum or both, but with a good spill, they don't seem able to get it all removed, so the result is a clean-looking, but wet, felt. I guess that's sufficient to keep the cards from being marked, but uncomfortable to rest one's hands on. I have wished they would move us to another table, but that has never happened, probably because there weren't any.

I have seen it a lot but I like to play when it is not crowded. Lots of empty spots at all but the lowest limit tables.

Gotcha. when pulling this move, spill water or soda. something with the least amount of stain and stickiness to prevent a table closure. :laugh::laugh:

AM has earned my respect. In case you never noticed most of the smartest people are considered weird by most people. They think differently so they seem weird. I never thought he was weird except for how much crap he would put himself through to stand up for his rights. If only more people had that courage.

never heard anyone use the word "smart" to describe the inventor of slap chop and sham wow. do you also consider Billy Mays to be a genius? how about Ron Popeil? and stand up for what rights? the right to invent silly things and promote them awkwardly?
 
To begin with; for the move to even work at all, it obviously has to be done at, or at least CLOSE to 1st base. When a drink is spilled at 1st base, the spill will usually also soak the felt in the spot right where the cards are slid out of the shoe. This almost ALWAYS causes the table to be closed.

And that's only ONE problem with this move. :rolleyes: If someone here is dumb enough to attempt this move in the manner that it's been described here, they'll quickly learn how extremely rarely that it can be successfully pulled off. For every time it works to the point of actually getting the bet off, there will be probably 499 times that it turns out to be nothing more than a waste of time (and a perfectly good drink!). This wasted time would be much better off spent just sitting there & making money the conventional way. :cool2:

Sorry thought you were saying AM was a weirdo. Reconsider my last post as referring to AM. That was my intention. Never heard of the slap chop. If you would have said sham wow I would have understood you weren't talking about AM.
 
Well let's not be so hasty to pass judgement on AM. I mean he does have a pic of a chimpanzee with a semi auto pistol pointing at ya!.. Just sayin.........

Also I love the shamwow guy, and Popeil, and only wish I had been born with their gift to push these crap products on the ploppies of the world...:rolleyes:

I must tell you, the Shamwow is not a crap product. I keep them on my boat to dry off, because it can be nasty cold when you are wet and moving at speed, especially in the spring or fall. With all the messing around with cocktail napkins and blow driers every time a drink is spilled, a Shamwow would pay for itself in EV to the casino the first time it is used.

Never got the Slap Chop though, don't cook enough.
 
I agree AM...the shamwow is great, Hey the pasta maker by popeil is neat, kinda fun to invite friends over and make different kinds of pasta.Years ago we used to have pasta nite every Thursday.

Oh, yeah, the hair dryer. I've had them do that on my table, too, but they didn't close it. It took a long time, too. :(
