10,2 vs 4

In his book, Fred Renzey advises a basic strategy variation of hitting 10,2 vs dealer's 4 up, instead of standing. I would like to know the EV for each strategy. ( I think this is a close call, anyway.)

With 6 decks and the typical Stand soft 17, it's;
Hit = -.210
Std = -.211

With 1 deck and the typical Hit soft 17, it's;
Hit = -.195
Std = -.208

All I can say is this: I read it in Blackjack Bluebook II and I now hit 10-2 vs 4,it usually works out well for me.

Based on this table at the Wiz's site, if you have a 6D, H17 game, that rule of thumb is no longer true, and standing is still best.

My guess is that multidecks reduce the effect of card removal, and H17 does as well, so combined, they overwhelm the difference?

Thats an interesting concept.
My tongue in cheek remark is a retort to ZGs post that by hitting your 12,you'll get more pushes,as if you can push by standing on 12.
