You win, thankfully*...my record is -$12k in one shoe, which was somewhere around -2.5 to -3SD.

*Of course, truthfully, I wish my biggest loss was that big, as it would imply that my BR was bigger and I was playing stronger games. But you know what I meant...
 
My biggest loss so far was tonight for 120 units. I'm up 600 units overall and have had very few losing sessions so hopefully this big loss will help longevity...or at least that's what I tell myself to try and stay positive :)

What where the rules of the table on the place you got slottered for a 110 units?
What was your minimum and max bet?

My personal best at losing hands in a row is 9 in a row! Luckily it was my day and I flat bet $5 for most of those 9 hands. After like the 4th lose in a row I was joking around with the dealer saying your killing me and I won't bet more than the minimum until I win a hand which was $5. So I had $5 bets going for the next 6 hands. The next deck I was betting $30 hands and winning! Ended up walking away a winner that session!

I mentioned before I lost a hand that involved 3 splits and 3 double double downs on a moderately high bet, that's like losing 6 hands in a row :laugh: Could only imagine if that was a max bet :sad:

I've gone a whole shoe where the only thing I "won" was an insurance bet :laugh::(:confused::cry::eek::(

When insurance is the bright spot in a shoe, you know it's bad. :cry:

I played a couple of consecutive shoes with lots of maximum bets and gruesome losses. The dealer suggested I vary the number of hands to fix that "flow" we've all heard so much about. Happily, these suggestions came at about the same time the count took flight. First it was "try 2 hands", and "maybe 3 hands is the right approach" - to which my response was "Don't mind if I do!"

Everyone was getting killed, particularly me, since the count ranged from fairly high to "Booyah!" for most of both shoes. And there were multiple insurance bets at the end of each shoe. I won all but one of them, I believe.

The guy sitting next to me couldn't believe it: he was slack-jawed at the number of insurance payoffs I was getting: "Holy hell, is insurance the only way to make money around here?"
 
I have twice had > 400 unit session losses (in green) over the last 2 decades.

If it effects you, (emotionally), take up a less risky hobby, like "extreme sports."

i HOPE THAT WAS NOT YOUR ENTIRE BANKROLL BUDDY. i SCRAPPED FOR THREE YEARS BEFORE EVERY STEPPING FOOT IN A CASINO, SO i COULD PLAY WITH AN ACTUAL BANKROLL. Or should I say ten small ones made up of $1k.

I have lost 4 of those bankrolls in 2 1/2 years but I have also won so much more.


Dont worry man you get it. TOOK ME A WHILE. Just practice.

Unfortunately the game I was playing was pretty poor (2 deck cuts s17 ds no rsa no surrender) but they let me and the rest of the team spread 50 to 2x3000 for weeks at a time. Tolerance, Time, and Speed can turn a bad game into a good one...it doesn't mean it won't be brutal though. The following quote is exemplary in describing how key this is...

Losing 100 units just happened to me too. Devistating. But I consider it just a temporary deposit and will get it back with interest. That's what pulls me through times like this.
