Hey guys.

I am going to be making a team starting in May, and I am wondering about some good Midwest Casinos to hit.

They NEED to be only 19 years old to play, and the better the Blackjack rules the better.

Midwest areas you are stuck to are basically Minnesota and Michigan. I'm turning 21 in august and before that I usually go up to a place in Minnesota where I had a 1-16 bet spread and didn't get much heat, but I attribute it to being a very talkative person at the table and with the pit bosses and being very casual.
 
The midwest is pretty consistent -- 6 deck, varying degress of penetration DOA DAS split 3 no Surrender Dealer hits soft 17

However, Notable exceptions include Mystic Lake which has some of the best penetration I have seen along with 2 4 6 and 8 deck games. Rules vary, though.

Also, Ameristar in outside of St. Louis has a good double deck game, so does Meskwaki in Iowa.
 
Well Four Winds in New Buffalo, Mi should be opening up here in July. It will be 19+ casino. Its about 15-20 min drive north of Blue Chip in Michigan City, In. July gives you time to train and practice the team, maybe ill see you guys up there sometime.
 
depends on your betting level, but mystic lake is pretty good. and 6 deck you can find amazing penetration or 5.5/6 decks being dealt out if you search for the right dealers.

it's h17 though, of the top it's -.66 acording to the BS charts. But heat isn't really an issue unless u find the one pitboss who knows what he's doing.

Year and a half ago, I noticed Ameristar STL cutting off exactly one deck from their two deck games, and also barring midshoe entry. Seemed pretty crappy. They did deal from a shoe, though.

It was, however, where I had my first win over $100 counting, so it will always have a special place in my heart :)

That seems very good.
 
the 3 min is at a sister casino just down the road, and even then it's one table that is usually either full or they have it at a 5 min.

also it gets fairly difficult on the weekends to find a 5 or even 10$ min table.

tournaments u have to have a club card, and have accumulated enough points the be at the next level. If not I would be playing tournaments every chance they offered.

but still the pen is amazing.
Also it's H17 so be prepared for that.

I think Treasure Island somewhere in MN also has the same rules, not sure about pen though.
 
A cousin of mine, whom I dont know too well, married into the tribe that owns Mystic Lake. I should see if he can comp me $200 in chips, or atleast get me a few buffets.

His wife did buy him a $10,000 rolex for an engagement present after all.

unless u count cards, 9/6 jacks or better video poker (pretty much the only video poker game left that is less than a .5% house edge) is better than any blackjack game that is worse than S17, DOA, DAS, 8decks, split to 4 hands.. so if u are playing worse rules than that, play jacks or better video poker instead, and go buy vpsm and bdwp.. most casinos have $.25 full pay jacks (also, jacks or better has very low volatility, and if u hit the royal u get $1000), an another thing, if u play $10 blackjack with the above rules, u will lose $3.50/hr @70 hands, and u will lose $3.13/hr @ 500 hands with the video poker
 
is anybody familiar with the games at harrahs outside of st. louis. i know they have DD games but they are in the high stakes room and start at $25 with 5 available seats. Anymore info before I make a stop in St. louis. What about the downtown games like Presidents or Casino Queen (Illinois side). I'll be there in a few weeks and i can get the scoop if anybodys interested
 
Info is a year old, but most of the casinos (Harrah's, Ameristar, Argosy) just have 6D H17 DAS (no surrender) out in the main areas. Ameristar had a couple of 2D (shoe) games with bad penetration and no mid-shoe entry.

The President was an amazing dump, and didn't seem to have much in the way of a good game.

I have read that Casino Queen actually offers a S17 game, but I never made it over to East St Louis.

Yeah dont let that fool you. $3 minimums are for those people who like to gamble at 8am-2pm monday-thursday, they're called retired people.

the majority of low level action is 6 deck with maybe 70-80% penetration...which is pretty decent but if you want to play outside of those hours listed above, you will be seated with 3 others per table at least. I love weekend nights, 7 people at a $5 6D table....you might as well play powerball.

if you want to get high end action, this is the casino in MN to hit up because you will blend in with a sea of high rollers compared to those dumps farther north. I seriously think they penetrate the deck at 50-60% in the high stakes, but I have been quite successful playing by myself, despite their attempts to tharwt 2D and 4D counters. Oh, and dont look for surrender on a table over $5 :laugh: Personally I dont think this casino has enough high action to accomidate weekend traffic from the Twin Cities. You will find 4,5,6 people at a $50 or $100 table at peak times, so I only vist if i happen to be out that way during a "slow" period of the week.
