The one benefit of poker is you can play as many hours as you want without fear of getting backed off. If you are good enough at both games, the better one to choose has to be poker.

Poker just gets really boring when you don't get any cards worth playing. I've been tempted to say "double down" as I muck my cards. It always seems like I get good double down hands, but never any splits! 
I've been thinking about using poker to build my bankroll, the variance seems to be less, especially short tournaments.

The same thing happens in blackjack. You make a max bet and split and double a few times and the dealer draws a 7 card 21. It happens in both games...

The same thing will happen when the situations are reversed. So when your poor opponent gets KK against your AA you will probably get your session bankroll back right there.
I know what you're saying though, it does suck when the timing is off and your KK runs into AA. But like zg mentioned, it's not a big deal if you are playing within your limits, it's just variance.

What you are describing is a natural event in tourney play, BUT I don't grasp the relevance in live action??
You would simply pull out another sessesion BR.
BTW, what makes you feel that you have an advantage at TH? Have you studied/read extensively? zg

what is AP? i keep seeing this, and i know it refers to card counters, but what does AP stand for?

It stands for Advantage Player. That means card counters, shuffle trackers, hole carders, sequencers, cutters/steerers, couponomists, comp hustlers, side betters, backliners, scavengers, or anyone who can get an advantage in any other casino game (sports betting, poker, big 6, 3-card poker, roulette, video poker, Spanish 21, Superfun 21, etc.). Basically, an AP is anyone who plays with an advantage over the house.

Actually it is more than cardcounting. Cardcounting is one form of AP. In blackjack you would also have things like shuffle tracking, holecarding, coupon hustling, casino promotions, picking up extra bets on plays other players do not want to make. (just last night, guy puts all his remaining cash out, gets a pair of aces vs dealer 4, wants to split but can not. I take one ace, we land up both winning)
AP in VP could be knowing when a progressive jackpot is at a point where it is a positive expectation game, getting triple comp points on near break even games and playing positive (if you can find them) expectation games.
AP opportunities probably appear from time to time in every game. An unbalanced wheel, a sloppy three card poker dealer etc.
The advantage player is a player who will only play when he believes he has an advantage over the house.

I play both poker and blackjack, and to be honest, poker pisses me off.
Many times I have a losing session at poker only to make it back with a short blackjack session.
The problem is that unless you are at medium stakes or higher, you have a lot of idiots who see poker and TV and then they think they are god's gift to poker. They call down with bottom pair, and catch a miracle card on the river. Enough to piss you off.
Blackjack is more action, you generally don't have to wait on a list to get a seat at a table either.
My last poker hand I played, I had AK diamonds, I was getting short stacked so I pushed all in. Guy accross the table has 4 7 offsuit! and lands a 7 on the river.
At least in blackjack, your tactics should pay off in the long run, as opposed to the bullshit of poker.

Bad play by my opponent never pisses me off. That's what makes poker so lucrative, the donkeys who call you down while way behind. Sure, they may catch every once in a while, but you still have to love them for making the donkey play.
