Backcounting 6D games is pretty excruciating, they don't go very positive that often. Honestly I don't know how you guys tolerate doing that. I'd rather find a cliff to jump off of. And in my experience, in most locations now days it is just too obvious to be backcounting and only playing positive shoes.
They were going positive faster than butter melts before 2012-2013 in the same casino. I don't know what changed. Lately I been hitting the 8D across the skreeet. They go positive more often and stay that way longer. Once you get about halfway through the shoe, the dealer's on the ropes. Totally different game there. Definitely don't fear max bet doubles like the other place.
They don't care. The pit will ask you the count and correct you if you're wrong
. One PB even tell people when to raise their bets, usually after a slew of low cards hit the table. He's not accurate but has been pretty close lol

Your play shouldn't consist of 100% Wonging IMO. Wonging should be one of the many tools in your arsenal but not the only one.

Yea that's true. The issue I have though is you're basically flat betting negative counts for hours on end. It's just too many waiting bets which most likely will never lead to any significant chance to raise. And when it does you're lucky to get 1 or 2 rounds that may or may not work out for you. I mean there are plenty of opportunities to win in negative counts as the count is dropping, but again you're winning minimums.. big deal lol

The average bet is helped by the bet spread allowing for more hands, resulting in a higher hourly winrate than playing only positive counts. Which have a higher profit per round but because you're playing so fewer hands the winrate is lower. This is before accounting for conditional obstacles such as finding a seat or dealer that is cutting deep enough, which eats up even more time. Thanks!

Unconditional obstacles:
When you Wong into a table, especially without asking the other players you are now in uncharted waters without any idea whats so ever how the table will react. Sometimes it can get downright nasty when you mess with the flow of the cards that the ploppies worship. Possibly creating a scene that the floor may notice. Now very infrequently you may accidentally Wong in on a counter who you may have missed. He/she will let you know that they were there first and not to try it again. If I am seated next to an empty seat (intentional) and you are standing behind me and the count starts getting good before you can even take your money or chips out of your pocket you will see a bet already in that circle as I mention it to the table (courtesy) that I am changing the flow. I do not care if they like it or not.
Besides all of that, no one can Wong in constantly for hours in the same pits.
This past year I've camped mostly because the shoes just stopped moving. Not really sure why but I used to be able to backcount and get positive counts much more often. And when I say camped I mean literally 12 hours of almost non stop counting neutral to negative shoes. Which is why I named the thread as such. Because my system required that I move in at +1.8 true, I was playing less than 5 rounds at best in a shoe that did turn positive. This was followed mostly by losing unless I got lucky (this includes the shoes that go to true +15 as well). Which led to break even years unless I went out of town.
I re simmed the game and started to tweak it a bit. Hone in on an acceptable winrate and spread. I recently started employing what @DSchles showed me in my betting, and what has happened is I'm losing much less. Since I'm waiting on a win to press, the win never comes as the count moves forward and by default I'm still betting small. By the time I do win I might have only doubled a bet before the count drops back and disappears forever.
But I found a hand shuffle game and it's night and day in every way. Tide's starting to turn now!

Are you still playing the game where your count never moves much?
It can happen for longish periods of time and can be frustrating, but that cant continue forever. I don't expect you are miscounting so keep playing.
I would be more worried if I kept getting endless positive counts.

Isn't it nice when you walk out winning, regardless of the stress this game puts us through along the way.
I'm my 30 years of playing I've won quickly, slowly, on good counts and bad counts. I once played 18hrs straight only to walk out even. I've had one losing month in my career and others that have doubled my bankroll.
Basically I'm trying to say don't be surprised by what happens because anything can.
As a side note, I'd like to post a question to all, just see what answers we get.
What is the most important thing in the world of playing pro BJ?

I mean it's either fun or dollars depending on who you are and why you do it. If it's dollars, then either you're trying to optimize dollars/hour without getting permabanned from your rotation of shops, or just optimize dollars/hour period and if you burn out, you burn out. Hours includes travel; dollars includes costs. Fun is fun -- you have to make your own calculus regarding winrate/loserate and how much fun you're having.
