DD S21 after splitting X's??

Ive always liked the concept of this play but have never really implemented this into my strategy. How high would the count have to be to justify risking your 21. Does anyone use this play? Are there playing indexes for such a risky play? Would it be to much exposure? Any thoughts?

The count would probably have to be oscenely high, and it's probably not worth it. No one in their right mind (except a counter or a hole-carder) would do that.

I'm trying to translate back to KO. Systemstrader says split 'em when 3 above the pivot against a 5 or 6 in all cases (apparently). ZG says split against same (5-6) at +4 against 1-2 decks.

Would the only way to prove this out be to sim it and check the effect on EV?

It just attracts too much attention!! more than any other play, everyone else at the table cringes, a moan goes up, the dealer will look at you funny. If you hear people and dealers talking about card counting they almost always say something about splitting 10's, but what the hell do I know, I just got back off at two shops in one night .

The index vs 5-6 is about +8 HiLo, I believe. I've done it, of course. Once at the TI high-limit slon I was trying to connect with the gorgeous hooker at the table on grave - the count was right, I doubled A-10 after splitting 10s, the whole table lost after the dealer drew 4 cards to 21, and the pretty girl called me an a**hole and left. zg

No discounts for you!

not really anything to do with the thread but i'm just reading the "grifter" interview...33 pages geez, but a good read nonetheless, haha, seems like you made some good business decisions to get a huge BR to play with, I'm just trying to get a big enough BR to get a 300c and life will be awesome haha.

Really interesting though.

Well as long as it was a gorgeous hooker:laugh: Next time your trying to mack on some hooker dont be doublin down on any S21's

I think i remember in PBJAAB revere said he used these plays. Any validity to that?

But than you'll have your Chrysler and NO BR! zg

who needs a BR when you got a 300c :D

On a side note I was at the casino 2 times today (morning and evening - amazing), and won 20 units first session came out even 2nd session (but lost 7 units on slots lol) and I witnessed a guy playing at my local casino (not that big only had 6 BJ tables going at the $25-$500 table which is the largest one offered / never seen anyone play it here (I am a low stakes player) and he blew $20,000 in less than an hour. I'm guessing he bought in for 4k and then after 1-2 hours he said he was up to 18k at the highest, then he lost it all and bought in for 4k more and lost that - what an idiot. The casino was probably unhappy when he was winning since they had no purple ($500) chips left for his constant max bets since he won them all haha.

He wasn't counting at all, but was playing BS, just can't see how he could lose that much, he didn't even look like a rich guy (not the best of clothes but w/e).

It's guys like that who keep the rest of us in business.
God bless 'em!

lol everyone at the casino was watching him play it was pretty funny some random guy just sat at his table and watched him haha

the correct indexes for this in KO is

T,T v 6, RC + 5
T,T v 5, RC + 6

if that is confusing then just use +6 for both...
