Female Blackjack players?

Lots of good female blackjack players...not too many counters... a few husband/wife teams/boyfriend/girlfriend teams.

Wow! I thought for sure there were some women hiding in the wings here. Thank you for the welcome! BTW, I am not 21, I am 41. The 21 in my name refers to the game. There was some confusion over that with a few people.
But, although I am 41, I look way younger, the average consensus is that I am in my 20's. Now, I am not bragging, I am bringing this up because although it's usually a great thing for a woman to look young, there are drawbacks too. I am often not taken seriously, and that pisses me off! Which leads to my next question.
How are women usually treated at the casino tables? I assume they are treated differently from the men.
Does anyone have any extra advice or warnings for a women playing Blackjack at a table without a partner? Specifically in Vegas.

I rarely hang around long enough to really tell whether people are playing with good BS. Almost everyone knows how to play hard hands correctly; splitting 9's vs. 7-10 correctly is a good diagnostic, as is soft 18 vs. 9-A and soft 13-15 vs. 3-6. It usually takes a while to see enough of those to make a determination.
From what I've seen, at least older women tend to hit stiffs less than older men - they'd rather stand on hard 13 vs. dealer 10 and let the dealer make a hand. However, younger men tend to double and split stupidly more often than younger women.
Are there any other females on this forum?
How often do you see women playing Blackjack who also know what they are doing, meaning at least good BS?I'm quite certain la_dee_da knows exactly what she is doing lol.
Even my wife knows BS and, I'm proud to say, gives a little BS back when people don't like her hitting A,7 vs >9
I suppose, unfortunately, the younger and prettier they are, the more it is unfortunately assumed, they are clueless. Stereotypes and all. If so, exploitable.

I don't see usually too many women playing alone. Most who are playing alone are older, or older and asian. And very very few seem to be "serious" players with solid BS skills. Haven't spotted an AP yet.
And it may be increasingly neolithic, but in Vegas there is the stereotype that a good looking solo woman playing may be a prostitute. Which could probably be used for amusing effect.

For the most part, all women I see at the tables are either middle age or older, asian, or dragged there by hubby/bf.
I see fewer perfect BS females than males, but fewer very poor females also.

That's funny, I'm in my early 40's but could pass for 60 these days when 60 looks like Mitt Romney.
There are a few other women on this site but I'm not outing them.
Most women aren't masochistic enough for advantage play. Men get gratification from torturing themselves, playing when hurt. We like getting into fights even when we lose. So you give the typical girl a choice between battling BJ for $50-$100 per hour with +/- $5K typical swings, or enjoying the oversize tub in her room with a glass of wine, and she's going to make the wise decision.
You're generally safe in a casino, providing the usual rules for dealing with strange men are observed, e.g., no going up to a guy's room to check out his CD collection, etc. Just being aware of what is going on when you leave the casino is probably a little more necessary, robbery, purse snatch, carjack, etc.
I use hookers and loose women I meet at the table as part of my cover act. You can probably use pickup artists in the same way.
I'd agree with this. Especially see older Asian women in Canada casinos, but probably there are more Asians living in that area than here in New York.
The thing I find strange is when I see guys with wife/gf and the guy is playing the spot she's sitting at while she watches. I don't get this except maybe it keeps anyone from asking for the spot if it's crowded ... though I've rarely seen a dealer enforce that if a player asks for a spot.

I have never seen one that knows squat about BJ. They make enough mistakes to drive a truck through. Women should leave the gambling to men and do what they do best and it ain't gambling.

I’ve met 2-3 very strong blackjack players but there are many more. Every major team that I know of has used skillful female players to some degree. The male APs definitely outnumber the female ones, but I don’t think there is any correlation of gender to skill. I think that females are just less interested in gambling than males.

Ah yes, the Belles of Vicksburg! I've never actually played with any of them, but they sure liked to keep me company, especially when I had a big stack of black in front of me. Those are the kind of girls who will marry you for your money and make it worth every penny!
