exactly...and as far as bet spread goes, i just dont think that a 300 max bet on the strip is really that big of a deal. like i said i played for 6 days, 6 hours a day at the Red Rock last year and took a couple of trips to the strip...nobody even gave me the l i think the casinos are so...

right its called a tax-free muni-bond paying a 5.5% coupon...i dont know where everyone got the idea that all i wanted to make is $500/week...THAT'S JUST FOR PLAYING IN A BAND, PEOPLE!! NOT COUNTING CARDS!!

ok then...sheesh...maybe because i've been playing music for years and years for like $300-400/month and enjoyed every friggin second of it...the idea of making $500/week doing something that is that much pure fun seems like a "decent wage" relatively, although in absolute terms it is living at...

well of course...i guess i thought this went without saying...hell im not even sure that the system im using (a modified Wong Halves <=2 deck 60% penetration) is a winner. i have a lot of work to do still...what can i say i love the vegas environment, the live bands, DJs and such...the...

intriguing comment...i'll admit most of my study was initiated in the 80's where Wong's book was pretty much recognized as the bible for the game (math-wise at least). im sure things have changed...what would you recommend to read nowadays?

no i think you misunderstood...the $500/week is just for playing guitar in a show band...the bulk my my income will be made playing blackjack. my expected win at 40hours/week should be around 10x that..

well im gonna, but im not looking to play in the big big venues...ill be happy with $500/week or so. im sure breaking in will have its share of challenges and perhaps i am being naive, but that's just part of the whole experience. thanks for your input :cool:

CP i think you just gave me some outstanding advice. i think im ready for the challenges that you mention and have several strategies to keep focused and keep real... also, i was wondering if you or anyone else has an update on the state of "heat" these days..i was in vegas few months ago...

i think its just a math problems.. 1. did the addition of having 5 seen 10's and A's drop the running count low enough where doubling down 11 v. 10 was still the right play?? (i dont think so in your case) 2. did the LONG-TERM expectation of drawing heat, being noticed, and being perhaps...
